THE WINSTON-SALEM WATER DEPARTMENT CREW TAPPED A NPS 8"" STEEL GAS PIPE MISTAKING IT FOR A WATER LINE. THE TAPPING BIT CUT THROUGH THE MAIN CAUSING A SMALL GAS LEAK BUT DID NOT RESULT IN A MAJOR FLOW OR PRESSURE ISSUE. A LOCATE REQUEST HAD BEEN MADE AND THE LINE WAS PROPERLY MARKED.
