Incident Narrative
APPROXIMATELY 300 BBLS OF CRUDE OIL WERE RELEASED AS A RESULT OF A THIRD PARTY CONTRACTOR STRIKE ON PLAINS 24"" PIPELINE DURING A LINE BORE FROM THE WEST SIDE OF COUNTY ROAD 1150 TO THE EAST SIDE. THE THIRD PARTY WAS ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL A CONNECTION TO PLAINS FACILITY. CLEAN UP HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND THE LINE HAS BEEN PLACED BACK INTO SERVICE. THE NATIONAL RESPONSE CENTER (NRC) WAS NOTIFIED AS A RESULT OF COSTS EXCEEDING THE $50,000 THRESHOLD. NRC ASSIGNED REPORT NUMBER 1153368.
