Incident Narrative

ON 7/10/20, KM FIELD PERSONNEL AND KINDER MORGAN CONTROL CENTER WAS NOTIFIED BY A 3RD PARTY OF A POSSIBLE LEAK AT NORTH WARD STATION. THE NORTH WARD METER RUN WAS ISOLATED REMOTELY BY THE CORTEZ CONTROLLER. KINDER MORGAN FIELD PERSONNEL WENT TO THE SITE TO INVESTIGATE AND FOUND A CO2 LEAK COMING FROM A 12"" FLANGE UPSTREAM OF THE METER RUN. THE LEAKING SECTION OF PIPING WAS ISOLATED WITH A MANUAL VALVE BY THE KINDER MORGAN FIELD PERSONNEL. THE SEGMENT UPSTREAM OF THE METER RUN WAS BLOWN DOWN. KINDER MORGAN EMPLOYEE TIGHTENED FLANGE AND THE METER RUN WAS PLACED BACK IN SERVICE.
