Incident Narrative
ON 9-21-22 WE RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE LANDOWNER OF A POSSIBLE LEAK. WE EXCAVATED AND FOUND AN ELECTRICAL POWER LINE ON TOP OF THE PIPE WITH BARE WIRES TOUCHING THE PIPELINE. IT APPEARED TO BURN A SMALL HOLE ON TOP OF THE PIPE AND FOUND MELTED SLAG BY THE DAMAGED AREA. THE SERVICE OF THE POWER LINE HAS BEEN OFF FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS OG&E SAID. IT APPEARED AT SOMETIME LIGHTENING HAS HIT THE POWER POLE AND THE LIGHTENING TRAVELED DOWN THE WIRES AND DAMAGED THE PIPE. WE REPLACED A 12FT SECTION OF PIPE WITH NEW PIPE.
