Incident Narrative
ON 2/5/2024 AT 1:00 PM CST ENTERPRISE PIPELINE OPERATOR DISCOVERED A CRUDE OIL RELEASE ON A RECIRCULATION LINE FOR TANK 390-114 AT HOUSTON APPELT TERMINAL. IT WAS DETERMINED AT 2:45PM THAT THE INCIDENT MET REPORTING CRITERIA. IT IS ESTIMATED 1.12 BARRELS OF CRUDE OIL SPILLED ON THE GROUND. THE LEAK WAS ISOLATED AND AREA REMEDIATED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT INTERNAL CORROSION WAS THE CAUSE OF THE CRUDE OIL RELEASE. THE LINE WILL REMAIN OUT OF SERVICE.
