Incident Narrative
AT 11:57 A.M. PST ON JULY 8, 2021, A THIRD PARTY EXCAVATOR WAS CROSSING AN EXPOSED 8"" PIPELINE. WHILE TUNNELING UNDER THE EXPOSED PIPELINE WITH AN EXCAVATOR, THE 3RD PARTY EXCAVATOR STRUCK THE 8"" PIPELINE. THE LINE STRIKE RESULTED IN A 2"" BY 6"" HOLE IN THE PIPELINE. CNG PERSONNEL USED EXISTING LINE STOPPER FITTINGS (STOPPLE FITTINGS) TO CONTROL THE RELEASE WHICH ALLOWED THE TEMPORARY INSTALLATION OF A PLIDCO CLAMP. THE PERMANENT REPAIR WAS COMPLETED AT 4:15 P.M.
