Incident Narrative
A LANDOWNER WAS BURNING HIS FIELD WHEN THE FIRE SPREAD TO THE WOODEN PIPELINE SUPPORT STRUCTURE. WHEN THE SUPPORT STRUCTURE WAS DESTROYED, THE ABOVE GROUND PIPING COLLAPSED. THIS CAUSED THE PIPING TO SEPARATE AT AN INSULATING FLANGE, WHICH THEN RELEASED AND IGNITED THE GAS IN THE PIPELINE.
