CITY OF LUBBOCK, TX WHILE REPAIRING A SEWER SERVICE LINE TO THE ASSOCIATED ADDRESS, CUT A 2"" NATURAL GAS LINE WITH A BACKHOE. THE GAS LINE WAS CORRECTLY MARKED WITH PAINT AND FLAGS BEFORE START OF EXCAVATION. ATMOS ENERGY WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DAMAGED LINE AT 15:09 AND ARRIVED ON SCENE AT 15:16. REMOTE EXCAVATIONS SITES WERE USED TO SQUEEZE THE PE LINE AND SHUT THE FLOW OF GAS OFF, AREA WAS MADE SAFE AT 16:37. ATMOS ENERGY'S INVESTIGATION OF THIS INCIDENT IS CURRENTLY ONGOING.
