SECOND PARTY CONTRACTOR DAMAGED 12'' STEEL HIGH PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION GAS MAIN. THE CONTRACTOR WAS USING AN EXCAVATOR TO DRIVE THE SHEET PILING INTO THE GROUND TO SUPPORT A SHORING BOX. THE SHEET PILING PUNCTURED THE GAS MAIN RESULTING IN A RELEASE OF GAS. THE EMERGENCY RESPONSE, REPAIR, AND RESTORATION RESULTED IN COSTS IN EXCESS OF $145,400.
