Incident Narrative
THE 2-INCH STEEL NATURAL GAS MAIN IN FRONT OF 3810 COUNCIL GROVE AVENUE WAS EXCAVATED TO REVEAL A CIRCUMFRENTIAL CRACK IN THE BODY OF THE PIPE FROM THE 1 O'CLOCK TO 11 O'CLOCK POSITION. THE CRACK WAS LOCATED AT A DENT AND DEFLECTION OF THE GAS MAIN THAT APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN CASUED BY PRIOR EXCAVATION ACTIVITY. THE DAMAGE WAS DIRECTLY OVER A SEWER LATERAL THAT HAD BEEN INSTALLED PRESUMABLY WHEN THE HOUSE WAS BUILT IN 2000.
