A CONTRACTOR RUPTURED AN 8-INCH HP STEEL NATURAL GAS MAIN WHILE BORING UNDERNEATH THE STREET TO INSTALL TELEPHONE CABLE. THE GAS MAIN WAS CORRECTLY MARKED BUT WAS NOT SPOTTED BY THE EXCAVATOR.
