When attempting to drive out of a steep driveway to turn onto a main arterial, the car interpreted the hill as a potential collision and turned on the emergency braking. I further backed up to come down the driveway at a different angle but the problem repeated itself again. It was multiple seconds before I could even continue to accelerate and fully enter the lane of traffic. It was as if the car put itself into neutral. That being said no part of the car every even scrapped the pavement so clearly the car was not in danger of a collision with the cement. I have also left this driveway multiple times and never had it emergency brake before. We were almost in a T-bone collision due to the sensors initiating emergency braking despite speeds of under 5mph and now actual collision risk existing.Read more

The water pump failed catastrophically at 63,100 miles, forcing a complete road-side breakdown and damaging the radiator. This is a known manufacturing defect affecting the 3.6L VR6 composite plastic pumps. Due to the failure of the pump, the radiator tank became hot causing a hole to form in the r

My safety was at risk as well as others safely was put at risk because this caused car to over heat leaving me broken down on the side of the road. My mechanic at specialized auto repair confirmed and reported this issue to me and they provided the repair. It was not inspected by police, or insurance because it was a break down, not an accident and that's not coved by insurance. I knew that the car was overheating because waring system showed it to be overheating. It was actually more than over heating because of the water pump failure, the radiator melted causing car to dump all the coolant/water creating an over heating emergency. The warning system first appeared at the same time as the pump failure and the car had already overheated due to radiator hole when the waring system alerted me to the car overheating.Read more

My infotainment system and back up camera have been having issues that I have been trying to get addressed since April 2026. I was told this is a known issue for VWs from the dealership service department and that I should replace the infotainment which has resolved these problems. I had to wait for
... the part to arrive, the infotainment center was replaced June 1, 2026. When I got the car back, the back up camera was again working but the infotainment center was again cutting in and out and glitching/ turning off. I brought it back to the dealership who informed me there had been a service update and to have the software updated. It worked for a short time, than began turning blank and not working. I again reached out to the dealership who opened a case with VW the company, and was told that they could not replicate the issue but would continue to work on the problem. On June 27th the back up camera started work but froze when I was reversing, again glitching. Because it had frozen while I was backing up I did not realize the footage was not live, and hit my neighbors car as a result. Their car had a hitch so was fine, but mine now has a noticable dent in the back bumper. I reached out to the dealership on June 29th who told me the case has been closed by VW of America. I brought it back in on July 7th for them to address the issues, they reached out again to VW of America to file a claim and was told there is no fix at this time. They are continuing to see if there may be software updates but that it is also older technology so that could be the issue. This is a 2018 Atlas SE TECH that only has 65,000 miles. I now cannot rely on my safety systems that I always usen living in a city to keep myself and my daughters safe when driving. Additionally, if this is not a fixable solution, I will need to replace this car, and I will have lost significant value since it is broken and there is not current fix in place.Read more

I leased a 2026 Electric GV70 from Genesis in June 2025. In January of 2026, when driving the car I got a warning sign to stop the vehicle and check the battery supply. At that point, the car went into sever power reduction and would only go 20 MPH or so. After 20-30 minutes, the car completely shut
... down and became inoperable. Luckily, I was near home and was able to get my car home. I had to have the vehicle towed on wheels as it was completely frozen to the dealership. They diagnosed it as a failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). They replaced the ICCU but identified other issues that to this day are unresolved and my car is still in the shop. These cars were subject to a recall for ICCU failure but only to model year 2025. These ICCUs are continuing to fail on the 2026 models, and at an alarming rate. The head of service at the dealership told me they were dealing with "hundreds" of ICCU failures on Hyundai/Genesis vehicles. If I had been on a highway traveling at higher speeds and the car suddenly lost almost all power and would only drive for another few miles before completely shutting down, it would have created a dangerous situation. These cars need to be recalled - again. Hyundai/Genesis clearly dont know how to make electric cars/battery packs that work and should be held accountable. I believe they are downplaying this situation due to the prior recalls/class action lawsuits and dont want to experience further reputational damage.Read more

With no preceding accident or damage, the vehicle suddenly received multiple warning lights on the dash, including: "Adaptive Cruise Control Problem", "Lane Keeping Assist Problem", "Collision Mitigation System Problem", "Road Departure Mitigation System Problem", ""Auto High-Beam Problem", and a Br
... ake System Caution Light. I attempted turning the car off and back on again, disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes, and reconnecting, and checked all fuses that were accessible. It appears the problem is related to the Multipurpose Camera (Honda Part #: 36160-THR-A91-M1). This appears to be a common issue. This manufacturing defect primarily effects safety systems and is common on a car that is primarily marketed towards the transport of families and children. I find this defect to be unacceptable and STRONGLY believe that it warrants a recall by the manufacturer.Read more

I was taking my kids to school and then suddenly a knocking sound started and then a boom. I found out that at 134,000 miles my engine threw a rod and punched a hole in my block. My [XXX] old was freaking out because there was smoke coming from the engine and her sisters said the car was going to c

Then as I was calling a tow truck my [XXX] old almost walked out into traffic because she wanted to see what I was looking at. After getting another family member to get my kids to school I was able to get to a repair shop where I was informed that Honda had a safety recall for rod issues and was advised to see if my car was covered. I check and it looked like only the all wheel drive cars were covered but mine was front wheel drive so it didn't fall under the recall. I want to issue a formal complaint to expand the recall on Honda Pilots for rod issues because mine obviously had an issue with the rod and should have been recalled. American honda refuses to give any good will because I didn't get my oil changes with them, even though it is an hour drive to get to the closest dealership. Engines shouldn't throw rods at 134,000 miles. A car is a big investment and it died after 9 years. I had all my maintenance done as scheduled, this never should have happened. Currently my car is at Carson Honda in Carson City NV. Also, another issue. I would get transmission system warnings. I did take it to the honda dealer because I was told there was an injector issue and they looked at the car, reset the code and said there was nothing more they could do. I don't know if the two were connected in any way but wanted to throw that out there. They need to be investigated for crappy parts and scamming customers. My 2021 Chevrolet Suburban experienced a sudden and complete engine failure at approximately 79,000 miles. The vehicle became inoperable and is currently at a dealership pending evaluation. There were no prior warnings indicating an imminent catastrophic failure. A sudden engine failure of this nat

The failure has been confirmed by the dealership, and no repairs have been authorized at this time pending further review. This complaint is being submitted to document a sudden and severe engine failure and to request evaluation of potential safety-related defects involving internal engine components.Read more

I was out of town and driving on the highway around 75 MPH, when the motor suddenly lost all power. I was driving in the far left lane approaching an overpass. The sudden loss made it next to impossible to make it off the overpass on a very busy freeway safely while trying to navigate many cars tr

I excited the e truck and stood off the freeway for my safety, as the truck was on very edge of freeway. GMC Roadside assistance took my truck to nearest dealer. This occurred on a Friday, dealership gave me a loaner car to get home as i was from out of town. They stated it would probably be the following Tuesday maybe Wednesday before they could tell me anything. I never heard from dealership service department, so i called them on Thursday morning and was told my truck motor had seized up and a new motor was needed. Service advisor stated GMC had been contacted and paper work started and I would be getting a new motor. The service advisor also stated that he had called and left a message. We verified my phone number and he had correct number, however I still never receive a call or voice mail. I still have not received any documentation on the failure or a repairs needed.Read more

I have had multiple issues believed to be related to the ICCU. The first issue was that my 12V battery deteriorated and died prematurely. I had to purchase a jump start charger and ultimately replace the OEM 12V battery in 2024 (within the first 2 years of owning my new vehicle) because it was faili
... ng to reliably start and I was at risk of being stranded every time I parked and turned off my vehicle. The 2nd issue occurred in Dec 2025 - the vehicle stopped charging with L1/L2 chargers. The dealer did not have availability to diagnose for 3+ weeks (until Jan'26), during which my only option was to use L3 Fast DC chargers (severely limiting my options for when/where I charge and costing a premium price). Once the dealer inspected my vehicle, they confirmed it was the ICCU and informed me there is a nationwide shortage and that it would be 6-8 weeks before a replacement was available. I'm currently at week 4 (mid-Feb) with no ETA currently available, so I'm forced to drive a replacement vehicle (and make alternative arrangements for personal travel that would violate replacement vehicle terms & conditions).Read more

Component Failure: This vehicle has suffered a recurring "Loss of Motive Power" (LMP) while in motion. On [XXX], for the third time, the internal combustion engine shut off completely while the vehicle was being driven in traffic. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: T
... his incident occurred on a public road in New York during a severe winter storm with over a foot of snow on the ground. There were two children in the vehicle. The sudden loss of propulsion in heavy traffic and hazardous weather conditions created an immediate risk of a rear-end collision and left my family stranded without power or heat in freezing temperatures. Confirmation & Inspection: This is a documented, repeat failure. The manufacturer has confirmed the defect previously and even reimbursed me for a prior repair attempt. However, the issue remains unresolved. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Jeep dealer during previous failures, but the "remedy" provided was ineffective. I am currently awaiting a new inspection for this third occurrence. Symptoms & Warnings: Prior to the total engine shutdown, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminated on the dashboard. In previous instances, the manufacturer cited software errors or internal contamination as the cause. I suspect this is related to existing NHTSA Recall 25V-766 (Engine Sand Contamination) or Recall 25V-710 (Hybrid Control Software Failure). Additional Context: Despite the life-threatening nature of this repeat defect, the local dealership refused to provide a loaner vehicle, and the manufacturer (Jeep Wave) is refusing to fully cover the cost of a rental vehicle. I am currently paying out-of-pocket interest on delayed reimbursements from the manufacturer. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Sudden power loss on highway. Engine would not respond. We were fortunate to have been able to pull over to the side of the road but in an unsafe merging area. Vehicle restarted after multiple attempts, but engine would not exceed 3000 rpm causing unsafe speed on highway. Engine died again causing t
... otal power loss. I was able to coast down the hill to safely park out of the way of traffic. Tow truck was needed. Vehicle was towed to dealer where it was purchased. After inspection, the engine was confirmed to have failed. The dealer advised for engine replacement as part of the L87 recall. This engine was previously inspected less than 10,000 miles prior as part of the same recall, and the higher-weight oil had been used since per the manufacturer's recommendation. However the inspected engine appears to have failed regardless. This sudden loss of power happened about two weeks prior, with the driver able to pull to safety and restart. It was dismissed as a fluke since it did not occur for the next two weeks.Read more

In early October 2025, my 2021 RAM 1500 experienced a steering malfunction in which the vehicle attempted to steer on its own without driver input. This created a loss-of-control scenario and posed a serious safety risk to me and surrounding traffic. The vehicle was removed from service immediately
... and taken to an authorized RAM dealer. Stellantis Customer Care and Fleet Case Management have acknowledged the defect and identified a required replacement part; however, the part has been on national backorder since October 2025. As of December 31, 2025, the vehicle has been out of service for over three months. Stellantis has provided at least ten different estimated repair dates, all of which have passed without resolution. Despite the steering-related nature of the failure, Stellantis has stated there is no active safety recall. The vehicle remains unrepaired due to the unavailability of the required steering-related component. I am concerned that this defect may affect other vehicles and that the prolonged inability to repair a known steering failure presents an ongoing public safety risk. I am submitting this complaint to request formal review of this issue and to document the safety implications of this unresolved steering defect.Read more

The steering is notchy during turns when the steering wheel is off center, making fine turning adjustments very difficult especially during turns. If any bumps are encountered during a turn or any turning adjustments need to be made, the steering will catch and release and move in a different direct

When the car is stationary, the it is clearly observed by turning the wheel slowly and feeling the vibrations or observing the continuous jumps in steering wheel. I took the car into the dealer for repair under warranty and they said the steering wheel turns side to side so it's not a problem and refused to further diagnose or make any repairs. I told them it was unsafe to drive the car as is and they said there was nothing wrong with the car so they wouldn't be doing anything more. I asked to show them what was wrong and they said they had done enough and refused to do any more diagnostics. I asked them to look into Safety Recall 6524A and said it feels a lot like what other people describe was wrong with that recall, they said the recall has already been done to this vehicle it doesn't apply, and furthermore that the recall was not an actual issue but just Mazda wanting stiffer steering feel. I now have an appointment with a different dealer to see if they will fix it since the car feels very dangerous to drive as is.Read more

The transmission on my 2019 vehicle began making loud grinding and whining noises and then started hesitating during acceleration. A Toyota dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed a failing transmission bearing and advised that the entire transmission must be replaced. The repair was quoted a
... t approximately $12,000. The vehicle has been regularly maintained and serviced. Despite proper maintenance, the transmission failure occurred unexpectedly and prematurely. Because of this issue, the vehicle became unsafe to drive and has now been undrivable for nearly a year. The failure creates a safety risk due to hesitation, loss of acceleration, and unpredictable shifting while merging into traffic or maintaining highway speed. The issue has been reproduced by the dealer and fully documented. There were no warning lights or error messages prior to the failure; the first signs included grinding noises and difficulty shifting. Publicly available reports indicate that Toyota extended warranty coverage in Canada for similar CVT transmission concerns affecting comparable model years, suggesting manufacturer awareness of premature internal component defects. My vehicle’s symptoms match those issues. This defect poses a significant safety hazard, especially given the possibility of sudden power loss. I am filing this complaint because this is clearly a premature CVT failure that has left the vehicle unusable.Read more

The rear hardtop panel on my 2022 Ford Bronco has developed serious cracking and surface separation after only three years of light, garage-kept use. The fiberglass is fracturing near the seams, exposing the underlying material. Water is now visibly collecting in the openings, which will lead to int
... ernal moisture intrusion, mold, and eventually corrosion of structural components underneath the hardtop mounting area. This poses a serious long-term safety concern, especially in the event of rear impacts or rollover situations. A Ford dealer inspected the issue and submitted a warranty claim, which was denied. The Ford representative acknowledged the damage but said they could not act without a recall or broader investigation. No warning lights or messages appeared; the issue is external and has progressed gradually. The damage began well before my bumper-to-bumper coverage expired, but has recently worsened. Ford’s own General Service Bulletin GSB 23-7174 lists rear hardtop panel cracking and edge delamination as warrantable conditions. My panel clearly fits those descriptions. Still, I was quoted nearly $10,000 for a full replacement, which is unreasonable. This is not an isolated case. Many 2021–2022 Bronco owners have posted identical problems online. Ford is clearly aware of this issue—which is why they issued that bulletin—but is denying claims unless pressured through complaints. I believe this is a materials or manufacturing defect and ask NHTSA to investigate this clear and ongoing failure.Read more
