The remedy to fix the current recall is taking absurdly long. I have driven a car previously in which there was a sudden loss of power and the risk to myself and other drivers is very dangerous. I just purchased this car in Nov. and the recall was soon after. I am very disappointed in this lack of urgency in finding a remedy. I purchased this car for my teen daughter to drive - what a mark on the safety of Toyotas name. There should be an investigation as to why the remedy is not being rushed as, again a lack of power and/or risk of fire on a busy California freeway, is putting so many at risk.

WHEELS Mar 3, 2026
I purchased a Toyota camry 2026 on January 5th 2026. After a week of driving the vehicle. I noticed it was sliding around & having a hard time stopping on my way home from work. One night going up a hill. I had to stop at a red light. When it turned green I tried to proceed. The tires just spun out I couldn't go any further. I had to turn around & go a different way. It's was only cold out no snow on the ground yet. A couple days later in the burger King drive thru. I had my son in the car. I was going less than 10mph. The vehicle wouldn't stop at the speaker. I ended up sliding into the speaker. It scared my son & myself. I attempted to contact Toyota about the issue. They told me if I wanted more aggressive winter tires. Then I should buy some. It's not about wanting winter tires I told them. It's about my safety, the safety of my family & the safety of other drivers on the road. They claim the OEM tires are all season tires. They are definitely not all season tires made for anyone that lives up north. I've never ever had an issue with a brand new vehicle driving in the winter with OEM tires until this Toyota. They refused to address the issue. I've also contacted the tire manufacturer. Even though they never sold the tires to me living in Connecticut in the winter. It was Toyota that decided these tires were ok to put on the vehicle & sell in any region of the USA. I had to purchase new England all season tires. Which cost quite a lot. I'd I had known I had to buy brand new tires for a 33,000$ vehicle. I either would have worked that into the cost of the vehicle. Or I wouldn't have purchased the vehicle. The salesman never told me the tires are a safety liability in Connecticut during the winter. Which is when I purchased the vehicle. The OEM tires that came with the camry cannot be driven in cold weather. I even offered to bring the car in to the dealership so they could put different tires on the vehicle that would be safe.

On 01/23/26 and again on 02/02/26, I lost power while driving. Fortunately, on both times I was able to turn off the road with no injury or property damage to me or others. I don’t remember if there was a screen message as I was taken by such surprise. Both times, I was traveling about 35 - 40 mph. On 02/04/26 I took my car to my dealer, AutoNation Toyota, Winter Park, Fl. I advised of these incidents and stated I was now afraid of my car. Later, I realized the service tech did Not mention these specific issues. A complete diagnosis of my car did not reveal any problem. On 02/17/26, I received the bolt recall, which could cause power loss with no remedy available yet. I emailed AutoNation asking for a refund or replacement Camry not affected by the recall. Per my request, they did provide my 2 incidents and my fear to the 02/04/26 invoice. I find it odd that the service tech did not mention these specific issues in the upcoming recall. It seems the dealers would be made aware prior to customers. I have taken a loaner car now pending repair being available.

The driver of a 2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid experienced a serious safety event involving both the seatbelt restraint system and vehicle speed control systems. While operating the vehicle, the driver-side seatbelt allegedly disengaged/unlatched unexpectedly. The driver was properly restrained prior to the incident and did not intentionally release the seatbelt. The disengagement occurred immediately before or during a single-vehicle crash. During the crash sequence, airbags deployed. However, it appeared that the vehicle continued to move forward under cruise control or sustained throttle input even after airbag deployment.

The vehicle is producing an extremely loud squealing/whining noise while driving and turning. The sound occurs at both low and high speeds. It is not subtle — it is loud enough to be heard across a large parking lot. For example, if the vehicle is at the back of a parking lot, someone standing at the front can clearly hear it. It can also be heard as I enter my neighborhood, before I am even close to my home, and my neighbors have noticed it as well. The sound resembles something rubbing or grinding against something else. It does not sound normal or consistent with typical hybrid system operation. The dealership has stated that this is simply the hybrid system; however, I also own a 2025 Camry Hybrid, and it does not make this noise. Additionally, the loaner Camry I was provided does not produce this sound either. This strongly suggests that the noise is not a normal characteristic of the vehicle. I am very concerned that there may be a mechanical issue that has not been properly diagnosed. At this point, I have been unable to receive meaningful assistance or resolution from the dealership. I am requesting a thorough inspection and clear explanation of the cause of this noise, as well as appropriate corrective action. Please advise on the next steps to resolve this matter promptly. Thank you for your attention to this issue. The system will not allow me to add a file attachment. Please reach out for copies and I will be happy to provide them.

The rear glass of the sunroof exploded while driving at highway speeds. The safety risk involved is that is sounded like a gunshot went off and the entire car got extremely loud, taking my attention off of the road, thank goodness the sunshade was closed and didn't shower me with glass. YES, the problem has been confirmed by multiple other owners online, and Toyota denies taking responsibility for its manufacturing defect putting all drivers at risk. It is being evaluated at by insurance. No warning lamps messages or any warning sign whatsoever before the rear section of the sunroof exploded.

The seatbelt in a 2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid (VIN: [XXX]) has unexpectedly unbuckled during normal driving conditions. This has occurred on three separate occasions. On [XXX], the seatbelt unbuckled during vehicle operation, contributing to injury during a single-vehicle accident in Texas. The injured occupant was evaluated at a military hospital. The seatbelt was properly fastened prior to the incident, and no warning lights were present. This appears to be a potential defect in the seatbelt restraint system and presents a serious safety risk. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Making them unsafe for myself, my children & anyone else driving on the road near one of these vehicles with the manufacturer tires on them. When the temperature here dropped below 30deg the tires were sliding all over the road. This made me feel & makes me feel unsafe.

The 2026 toyota suddenly accelerated when pulling into a handicap space. Suddenly the vehicle jumped the concrete barrier and sidewalk and hit a building. The airbags did not deploy and the seat belts came off as normal. The building was not damaged but my wife sustained a shoulder injury and whiplash. The vechicle was towed from the scene and is at Collison Center where the collison occurred. Note: 2026 is when all electronic components were engineered into the vehicle. The vehicle has not been started since the accident. The outcome could have resulted in a life altering injury or death. The problem has not been reproduced as the vehicle is not driveable. The vehicle was purchased the 14 miles on it. As of today 1/16/2026, we are not aware of any vehicle inspection. Our insurance company told us they would not pay for the download of the black box but we could if we would like. We decided to hire a person to download the black box and give us the results of the download. This is to occur on January 20, 2026. There were no warning indicators prior to the sudden acceleration. No cautionary lights came on and continued application of the brakes did not slow the vehicle. No dash lights were on after the sudden acceleration.

My 2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid XSE (VIN 4T1DAACKXTU213841) purchased on September 26/2025 is subject to Safety Recall 25TA15 / NHTSA ID 25V869 for a loose inverter bolt that can cause loss of motive power or fire. Toyota says no remedy is available until at least Q1 2026. I transport my minor child in this vehicle and do not feel safe operating it with a known and unresolved fire/crash risk. I am reporting this defect and lack of remedy.
SEATS Jan 3, 2026
Two days after purchasing vehicle, I noticed a popping noise coming from the bottom driver seat, and the seat back of the driver seat. I took vehicle to the dealer, and the dealer was unable to replicate the issue. I noticed this issue every time I drive. I opened up the seat cover and noticed a loose piece in the seat frame. I think this may be causing the issue. I will be taking the vehicle to the dealer again to see what can be done.

“Hi, my name is [XXX] , my vehicle VIN [XXX] . I want to report a life-threatening situation that just occurred in our new 2026 Toyota Camry which was purchased [XXX] this year. On ([XXX]) evening @ [XXX] while driving on [XXX] North towards Cumming, the passenger side back tire suddenly dislodged itself from the rim and went flying across the highway. Because of this, I found myself in a state of immense panic, seeing the car tilt on one side, scraping away the smooth rim and ruining part of the back of the car and the undercarriage. Could have caused severe damage to my health and others on the highway, luckily truck driver blocked the lanes for me. We understand that manufacturing companies can have slight mishaps at times, but the severity of this issue could permanently compromise our safety. Although we hoped for almost no issues for the next few years, witnessing the quick detachment of the tire was the last thing we could ever expected. We also have teenager drivers at home, who rely on this car for simple transportation and our goal is to ensure they drive this car with confidence, but this incident has got rid of our peace of mind.
