VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS
Toyota Motor Company (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2009-2011 Tundra, Sequoia, Corolla, Corolla Matrix and Scion xB, 2008-2011 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid, 2007 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2009 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2006-2011 RAV4, 2006-2010 Yaris, and 2009-2010 Scion xD and Pontiac Vibe vehicles. During the manufacturing of the Power Window Master Switch (PWMS), grease lubricant may have been inconsistently applied to the sliding electrical contacts.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the switch, applying a lubricant if no abnormality is found. If abnormality is found, the PWMS circuit board will be replaced, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin December 20, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is C0M.

Toyota is recalling certain model year 2007-2009 Camry, Camry Hybrid, RAV4, Corolla, Corolla Matrix, Tundra, Sequoia, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Yaris, Scion xB, Scion xD and Pontiac Vibe vehicles. The power window master switch assemblies in some of these vehicles were built using a less precise process for lubricating the internal components of the switch assemblies. Irregularities in this lubrication process may cause the power window master switch assemblies to malfunction and overheat.
Remedy: Toyota will notify its owners, and dealers will inspect the switch and apply a special grease that inhibits heat build up or replace any switch damaged by the defect, free of charge. Toyota owners that experience a problem with a switch should not attempt to make repairs, but should contact their Toyota dealer or the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331. General Motors will contact the Pontiac Vibe owners affected by this recall and GM dealers will inspect and repair switches as necessary. Those owners may contact Pontiac Customer Care at 1-800-762-2737.

TOYOTA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2004-2010 PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL CAN GET STUCK IN THE WIDE OPEN POSITION DUE TO ITS BEING TRAPPED BY AN UNSECURED OR INCOMPATIBLE DRIVER'S FLOOR MAT.
Remedy: TOYOTA FILED AN AMENDED DEFECT REPORT ON NOVEMBER 25, 2009, STATING THAT DEALERS WILL MODIFY THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND, ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, ALTER THE SHAPE OF THE FLOOR SURFACE UNDER THE PEDAL. THESE CHANGES ADDRESS THE RISK OF PEDAL ENTRAPMENT DUE TO INTERFERENCE WITH THE FLOOR MAT. REDESIGNED ACCELERATOR PEDALS WILL BECOME AVAILABLE BEGINNING IN APRIL 2010 AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE ANY MODIFIED PEDAL WITH THE NEW PEDAL IF DESIRED. ALSO, DEALERS WILL REPLACE ANY GENUINE TOYOTA OR LEXUS ALL-WEATHER FLOOR MATS WITH REDESIGNED ALL-WEATHER MATS, OR REPURCHASE THE PREVIOUS MATS FROM OWNERS WHO DO NOT WANT THE NEW ONES. ADDITIONALLY, SOFTWARE MODIFICATIONS WILL BE INSTALLED ON CAMRY, AVALON AND LEXUS ES 350, IS 350 AND IS 250 MODELS THAT WILL ENSURE THAT THE BRAKE OVERRIDES THE ACCELERATOR IN THE EVENT BOTH BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS ARE APPLIED. MY VEHICLE WAS MOVING AT ABOUT 20 MILES/ HR WHEN I STEPPED FORCEFULLY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AS THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SLOWED BUT I DID NOT LURCH FORWARD, MY SEAT BELT DID NOT TIGHTEN TO PULL ME BACK AND MY BAG PACK THAT WAS ON THE FRONT PASSENGER LEATHER SEAT STAYED WHERE IT WAS. MY VEHICLE BEHAVED AS IF I HAD NOT BRAKED. WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES, I COULD SEE ASPHALT BETWEEN MY VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. MY VEHICLE'S FRONT BUMPER, GRILL AND HOOD WAS DAMAGED. THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF MINE HAD DENTS ON THE REAR BUMPER AND THE TRUNK. THERE WAS A THIRD VEHICLE IN FRONT OF THE ONE IN FRONT OF MINE THAT WAS ALSO DAMAGED, HOWEVER, I DO NOT KNOW THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE. I GOT THE VECHICLE BACK YESTERDAY AND I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND MY BREAKS FAILED AGAIN CAUSING ME TO REAR END THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME. I COULD NOT STOP. ABSOLUTELY NO BREAKS!! THE VECHICLE WAS IN MOTION TRYING TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I BELIEVE THE ABS BREAK ACULATOR / MODULE IN THE VECHICLE IS BAD. THE COMPANY WHOM I BOUGHT IT FROM I BELIEVE SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ACCIDENT CONSIDERING THEY'RE THE ONES WHO STATED THEY FIXED THE VECHICLE

DRIVING ON FREEWAY, POWER STEERING WENT OUT. PS LIGHT CAME ON PULLED OVER, TURNED CAR OFF FOR FEW MIN, STARTED IT UP AND WORKED OK. IT'S HPPEED 6 TIMES SO FAR.
I WAS CROSSING AN INTERSECTION AFTER THE VEHICLE ON MY LEFT STOPPED. A FORD PICKUP CAME BARRELING OUT OF NOWHERE, SWERVING AROUND THE OTHER VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THE DRIVER WAS GOING FASTER THAN HE CLAIMED ON THE POLICE REPORT (INCLUDED). WE COLLIDED IN THE INTERSECTION FRONT-LEFT-TO-FRONT-RIGHT. MY CAR WAS SPUN AROUND ABOUT `50 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT, ENDING UP ACROSS THE SIDEWALK. BOTH VEHICLES WERE TOTALED. THE OLTHER DRIVER'S AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND HE RECEIVED A CUT ON HIS FOREHEAD. MY TAKATA FRONT AND SIDECURTAIN AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, AND I WAS THROWN INTO THE DRIVER'S DOOR, BREAKING FOUR RIBS, A VERTEBRA, SHOULDER BLADE AND MY COLLARBONE. IN THE REBOUND TO THE RIGHT, MY RIGHT WRIST AND RIGHT ARM JUST ABOVE THE WRIST WERE BROKEN. THE FRACTURES WERE SET UNDER ANESTHESIA, AND I SPENT 8 DAYS IN THE HOSPITAL AND ABOUT 7 WEEKS IN A CONVALESCENT/REHAB FACILITY. I AM NOW UNDERGOING WEEKLY OT FOR WEAKNESS, LACK OF MOBILITY, AND PAIN IN MY RIGHT HAND AND WRIST, AND POOR MOBILITY AND PAIN IN MY RIGHT SHOULDER.

ABS MODULE IS CONSTANTLY CYCLING . VCS LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT ARE ON. THE BRAKES ARE SOFT. THE REPAIR IS APROX 3K DOLLARS
ABS ACTUATOR IS BROKEN, THERE WAN AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE HYBRIDS UP UNTIL 150,000 MILES.
I HAD TAKEN MY CAR TO A DEALERSHIP TO GET MY BRAKES AND ROTORS CHANGED ,AROUND SEPTEMBER OF 2018, ABOUT A WEEK LATER THE TRACTION LIGHT WOULD COME ON WHENEVER I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES . I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE PLACE WHERE I HAD GOTTEN THE BRAKES DONE AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. I FINALLY TOOK MY CAR TO ANOTHER MECHANIC, SO THEY COULD DIAGNOSE THE CAR , WHEN I GOT BACK MY CAR, THE VSC, TRACTION ,AND BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON. THEY CLAIMED IT WAS THE ABS MODULE.

THE VSC SYSTEM LIGHTS ARE GOING OFF. THE BRAKES ARE NOT WORKING WHEN YOU TURN THE CAR ON AND THEN IT JOLTS SUDDENLY. NOW A BEEP IS GOING OFF EVERY TIME I START MY CAR.

BRAKE FAILURE. WAS DRIVING IN RESIDENTIAL STREET (LOW SPEED) WHEN BRAKES STOPPED WORKING. HAD TO USE PARKING BRAKE. PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE WITH BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR TANK/FILTER, WHICH TOYOTA OFFERED TO SERVICE UNTIL 30 JUNE 2017. UNFORTUNATELY, NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES UNTIL NOW--1 1/2 YEARS AFTER THE SERVICE OFFER HAD EXPIRED. SHOULD BE FULL RECALL. THE REASON WHY PROBLEM DID NOT SURFACE TILL NOW IS BECAUSE VEHICLE HAS LOW MILES (85,000 AFTER 12 YEARS).

THE DEALER ADVISED ME TO CALL TOYOTA, WHICH I DID, BC THERE HAD BEEN PROBLEMS WITH BRAKING IN 07 AND 08 TOYOTA CAMRYS. TOYOTA WAS INCREDIBLY UNHELPFUL (THIS DESPITE MY OWNING TWO TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRIDS), EVEN THOUGH TOYOTA HAD ISSUED TWO EXTENDED WARRANTIES BECAUSE OF THE ISSUES WITH INTERMITTENT LOSS OF ASSISTED BRAKING REPORTED BY MANY CUSTOMERS, THE LAST ONE THROUGH JULY OF 2017.
