While driving the vehicle under normal conditions, multiple advanced driver assistance and safety systems suddenly became unavailable without warning. The systems affected include Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assistance, and related safety features that rely
... on the forward-facing camera. The failures occurred at the same time and were indicated by warning messages displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized dealer, who confirmed a diagnostic trouble code indicating an internal electronic failure of the forward multipurpose camera. The failed component is installed behind the windshield and is available for inspection upon request. The dealer stated that no accident, physical damage, misuse, or external cause was identified. After the camera failure was identified, the vehicle also briefly displayed a transmission system warning message that later cleared on its own. In addition, the center display screen has shown unstable behavior while driving, including unexpected resets and flashing back to the navigation screen. The sudden loss of collision mitigation, lane assistance, and warning systems reduces the vehicle’s ability to assist in avoiding crashes, particularly in emergency situations, and increases safety risk to the driver, passengers, and others on the road.Read more

Since October 2022, we have had to replace the front signal wiring harnesses on the car four (4) times due to the wiring being coated with a substance that rodents are being attracted to. It seems that is has happened again. We have not yet taken it to our repair shop for confirmation this time, b
... ut we had an incident with our Kia (Vin [XXX] ) in November 2024. In this case the clutch assembly wiring had been chewed and the assembly had to be replaced. We had the Kia towed to the dealer for repair, so all incidents are documented by repair shops. Not having proper signaling can cause accidents, but I think chewing of other wiring such as the clutch assembly can be an even greater cause for concern. What part will be chewed next. With the clutch assembly we were shown a check engine light and with the signals, the signals sounded different. I know from being on the Next Door website that other people in the area have had the same problems. I think this problem of the coating on wiring should be checked before it causes a serious accident. I put the date of the Kia incident on the bottom because I considered this the most serious. On a recent road trip my family and I experienced an issue with the Brake Assist on my 2016 GMC Sierra. When I returned back from our vacation I took the vehicle to a 3rd party mechanic that I trusted to perform diagnostics. He advised that I would need a new vacuum pump and stretch belt to correct
... the issue. Upon receiving this information I advised him to move forward with the repair. What I didn't know was that Special Coverage N182202780 covers this exact repair from GM at no cost to the customer. I followed up with GM to see if I could recoup any of the cost and I was told no because I didn't get the work done at a GM dealership. I find this to be extremely frustrating as I did not know there was a special notice that would have covered this defect, and if I had I would of taken the vehicle to a GMC dealership. I feel that GM should reimburse me for the defect that was known even if I had the vehicle serviced at my chosen mechanic. Any help would be greatly appreciatedRead more

Our 2018 Ford EcoSport with less then 50,000 miles had an engine failure while driving on the highway. This was due to the loss of oil pressure. We bought this vehicle brand new in 2016, and it seem to be a nice vehicle until it hit 30,000 miles. When we hit 30,000 miles in April 2020, the brake system failed, causing a passenger side collision, however, there were no injuries. Then in November 2020, the transmission went out. At that time w
... e had to have the front brakes replaced as well. Then in May 2021 at 40,000 miles, we had to replace the front brakes again. In September 2021 at 50,000 miles, the front and rear brakes started grinding and needed replaced, which ended up having the ABS system, ABS module, brake lines, brake rotors, brake calipers, brake drums, and pads replaced. In February 2022 at 58,000 miles, while driving home, there was a loud bang from the front of the vehicle, the vehicle shuddered violently, had very little acceleration, and there was a large amount of white smoke coming from the back of the vehicle. Had the vehicle towed into the service shop, where they stated the engine block had thrown a rod through the engine. Had the engine replaced. Four days after the vehicle was returned, the front suspension collapsed on the tires. Had the front suspension replaced at 58,000 miles. August 2022, the transmission failed once again at 69,000 miles, and also had to replace the front brakes again. At 76,000 miles, in March 2023, had to once again replace front brake pads, rotors, and passenger caliper. No rear drums and pads need replaced. Vehicle ABS system is nonresponsive, ABS light is on once again, when, pressing the brake pedal, the vehicle does not stop just like when ABS system and module was replaced prior. Emergency brake does not work as well. I have contacted Nissan several times, to which I was told they would no longer service my vehicle. Now I am wondering what to do at this point.Read more

This car was purchased brand new and only had 62K miles. This appears to be premature wear and of course the warranty as passed, which would have been 5 years or 60,000 miles. On December 14th, I was driving my 2017 Ram 3500 with 95,000 miles down the road when I encountered a tree completely blocking the roadway. When I applied the brakes I heard a pop and the brake pedal went the the floor. At this point I had no brakes and was forced to hit the tree. Thankfully it was
... in a rural area and no one was killed because of the failure. My safety was defiantly put at risk because of this failure. Once stopped I was able to look under the hood and found the top bolt that holds the brake master cylinder to the firewall sheared completely off. This caused the brake master cylinder to fall away from the firewall and disabled all braking functions. I had the vehicle towed to a Ram Dealer and then contacted Ram (Stellantis) for a reason and solution to fix the failure. They sent an engineering analysis associate to look at the the truck finally on the January 9th. They then sent a very generic letter on the 12th stating that they don't believe it is a manufacturing issue. They will give the dealer or myself no further information on what they found, what the cause was, or how the dealer should proceed to fix the problem. The vehicle is still currently sitting at the Ram Dealer and has not been fixed if you would like to inspect it. There were no warning lights, messages, or prior problems associated with this failure. It was a sudden and catastrophic failure of the braking system.Read more

Subaru's negligence strikes again with the SAME problem their other cars have had in previous years. The RTV silicone, a substance utilized to seal various components in the engine block was excessively applied in surplus. Therefore, this RTV ends up clogging essential components of the engine bloc
... k, such as, however not limited to, the tube used to draw and release oil from the oil pan. There is also potential evidence that other components and chambers in the engine block may also be affected. This RTV blockage, if ignored, may cause oil starvation, damaging or outright DESTROYING various essential components of the engine block and therefore leaving the engine totaled and unrepairable. What I ask is we force a recall on Subaru's part as a standard required check-up for this issue to have these blockages cleared and excess removed. Otherwise, we'll be seeing a lot of blown motors as a result. Important to note: Subaru dealerships are not running this fix as a warranty, therefore checkups and repairs must be made out of pocket.Read more

... when the option is selected. I opened an ticket number online via their complaint system and have also not received a response. I attempted to reach their roadside assistance phone line and also could not reach a person. I sent an email to Subaru Chief executive and received a call back from their executive offices. They acknowledged that they were also ubable to reach a person at any of their numbers including road side assistance. This is obviously extremely unacceptable for many reasons. Subaru charges for pre installed equipment and subscriptions for access to roadside and support. Not only are they building in cost to the consumer, but they are not delivering what they are promising, and most importantly, not providing what you are paying for. The safety aspect of not being able to reach roadside assistance is very serious . I have yet to receive an answer as to why i received an email telling me to update my vehicle software when I don't have software available to install. The dealership I purchased the vehicle from confirmed the software in my car isn't up to date, or is an obsolete version.
