The total price the licensed mechanic gave me was 3,246 so ive been trying to mitigate this for months but i recently just seen a Major recall was just issued which is the NHTSA campaign #26V367000 which is the same exact problem my vehicle that was sold to me was & is currently experiencing but my state which is [XXX] was excluded from the Recall list because it isn’t classified as a Salt bath state but since im experiencing the same issue and i don’t live in one of those states im just making this formal complaint to see if i can get some help to mitigate this situation to get the recall extended to more states since its not just affecting the north united states its down south as well so if someone could please help me or get back to me to point me in the right direction to get this situation mitigated it’ll be greatly appreciated thank you and have a great day. On Thursday, May28 I was driving my 2025 Ford Mach-2 on Schrock Rd. in Columbus, Ohio at approximately 3:30 PM when the hood (the "frunk") of the car unexpectedly unlatched and opened, flying up to a vertical position and obscuring my view of traffic. I was driving in the left lane of this road at 4
... 0-45 mph. My view of the road was immediately obstructed, but I was able to crouch sufficiently to see enough of the road ahead and the mirrors on each side to navigate to the right lane and then to the side of the road, pull off safely, turn the car off, exit, and close the frunk firmly. I was away from home when this occurred. When I got in the care to drive home, there was a warning that came on, for the first time, that read as follows: FRUNK FAULT DETECTED; SERVICE REQUIRED. There was no advice to avoid driving the car. I checked the hood/frunk to be sure that it was firmly closed, then started for home, avoiding my usual freeway drive at 65mph for a slower trip on local roads. It is a good thing I did, because the risk of a major accident with injury and serious property damage would have been far greater at higher speed. I arrived home without the frunk opening again, called for Ford Roadside Assistance, and arranged to have the car towed to Germain Ford of Columbus, where it still is, awaiting the delivery of a new frunk latch system. The dealer has determined that there is likely a defective sensor in the frunk latch. This is a known issue with the Ford Mach-e, affecting not only the frunk but also sometimes the hatch lid in the rear. This is a serious safety hazard, and a review of reports over several models years from Mach-e owners indicates that I am not alone in having experienced it. At highway speeds a suddenly unlatched frunk/hood would not only open to the vertical, but conceivable also be smashed against the windshield or ripped off the vehicle and become airborne. Ford is aware of the issue, for there is are technical service bulletins covering it.Read more

I am filing this complaint regarding a recurring and dangerous safety issue with my 2021 Subaru Forester. The auto stop/start feature intermittently fails to restart the engine after it shuts off when stopped. When this occurs, multiple dashboard warning lights come on, an alarm sounds, and the veh
... icle requires putting the transmission into "Park" and shutting it down completely before it will start again. This has happened multiple times at intersections, traffic lights, and freeways during rush hour (stopping and starting frequently), leaving me temporarily stranded in live traffic. The local Subaru dealership service department was unable to replicate the issue, however upon inspecting the vehicle's charging system, the battery was found unable to hold charge from the alternator and was replaced on June 9th, 2025. Now after less than 1 year of replacing the battery, the problem persists. I have been made aware of TSB 16-118-24R (TCM reprogramming for auto start/stop restart failure) and TSB 09-80-21 (Thermostatic Control Valve failure) which appear directly related to this issue. This is a serious safety hazard. A vehicle that cannot restart in live traffic puts the driver and other motorists at significant risk of a crash. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Power steering / steering wheel responsiveness steering wheel "stuck" in position. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? On curved roads or roads at highway speeds, small steering
... corrections are not always possible. Excessive force must be used to "snap" the steering wheel out of being stuck, which can cause the vehicle to swerve slightly. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, they do not spend enough time with the vehicle or do the proper preparation to recreate the issue. Or they charge high fees just to try to determine the issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, not to my knowledge. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, none. Other notes: This has happened since the vehicle was under warranty, circa 2018/2019. It happens most often on very hot days, or when the car has been driven for a while, and mostly happens at speeds around 70 mph, though can happen as low as 40 mph. *When researching it does appear that the 2016 Honda Civic EX 2.0L sedan shares a part number with other Honda vehicles that were part of a recall regarding steering issues.*Read more

My 2017 Subaru Forester [Touring] (VIN: [VIN]) has a recurring front passenger airbag deactivation problem even when an adult is seated and belted. The console shows “Passenger Airbag OFF” with an adult occupant. The seatbelt chime recognizes a passenger, but the airbag remains OFF. In many case
... s, the airbag will only enable if the passenger sits after engine start—classic Occupant Detection System (ODS) misclassification behavior. The ODS recall WUM‑98 (NHTSA 19V‑701) for 2015–2018 Forester was completed before I purchased the vehicle in April 2020, but the same safety condition has returned. On 02/25/2025 at Subaru of Sterling (VA), the dealer wrote: “Seats: occupant detection sensor mat circuit code. passenger side seat sensor mat has failed causing air bag light. recommend replacing passenger side seat bottom in the amount of $2,276.51.” I was also told the recall was “voided” because it had been completed before my ownership, and I must pay $2,276.51 to restore airbag function. I opened a case with Subaru of America: 25‑982548‑811. This is the same hazard identified in NHTSA 19V‑701 (Subaru WUM‑98)—the ODS may misclassify an occupied seat and deactivate the passenger airbag, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. I am requesting NHTSA to record this as a post‑remedy recurrence and to follow up with Subaru to ensure a permanent corrective action (e.g., seat cushion/ODS sensor replacement) without shifting cost to owners. I can provide the dealer RO/estimate and photos/video upon request. Monday, November 3rd, 2025 In electric mode - I drove the vehicle forward out of a parking spot. The vehicle made three very large lurches over a 200 foot length of parking lot, enough to bang drivers and passengers heads hard against the head rests each with a loud clunk. Within seconds after the
... third lurch, the car went into gas/oil refresh mode (which transitions the vehicle from electric mode to gas mode). At that point the accelerator became unresponsive with RPMs hovering just over 1000. After multiple successive press, hold and releases of the accelerator, I took my foot off thinking I had lost all power and was preparing to shut the vehicle off. Before I could, the car began accelerating quickly forward without my foot on the accelerator. This lasted for 1 - 2 seconds before the car stopped accelerating and I was able to use the brakes to stop it. Had this not been late evening (9:45p EST) - the parking lot would have been full of pedestrians and other vehicles which would have caused a collision with other vehicles, or worse caused me to strike a pedestrian. I had no control over the vehicle. I put the vehicle in park and shut it down. After a minute, I restarted the vehicle and brought it home. The check engine light has been lit since. At this time (Monday, November 10th), the vehicle is still at the dealership (brought in Wednesday, November 5th) being investigated for this as well as the transmission (?) issue that was causing the lurching described.Read more
