DISCOVERED WHEN OBTAINING PRICE QUOTE FOR PART THAT THE ORIGINAL PART WAS DISCONTINUED IN 1995, REPLACED WITH A NEW DESIGN AND PART NUMBER. DRIVER SHOULDER BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE LOCKING MECHANISM IN THE RETRACTOR ASSEMBLE FAILED, THE SEAT/SHOULD BELT WOULD NOT RESTRAIN THE DRIVER IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT, REPLACEMENT PART IS DIFFERENT FROM THE ORIGINAL PART, PART IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION
FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT BELT AND SECOND ROW PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT RETRACT. VAN WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP. REPAIRS WERE MADE AT OWNER'S EXPENSE. ENTIRE SEAT BELT MECHANISM HAD TO BEL REPLACED FOR BOTH BELTS. *AK THIS VEHICLE HAD TWO PREVIOUS SEAT BELT RECALLS. *YH

MOST TRANS SPORTS I SEE OF THIS AGE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE CLEAR COAT FAILING ON THE PORTION OF THE ROOF PAINTED BLACK. COST TO FULLY REPAIR IS $800. SINCE IT IS A UNIVERSAL PROBLEM ON THE VAN, I SUGGEST THAT IT IS A FAILURE BY THE MANUFACTURE TO PROPERLY PAINT THIS PART OF THE VEHICLE. THE NON-BLACK PART OF THE VAN'S PAINT IS JUST FINE.
ROTORS HAVE TO BE TURNED EVERY 34,600 MILES. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, BRAKE PULSATION OCCURS. DEALERSHIP HAD INSPECTED BRAKE SYSTEM AND CERTIFIED THAT IT IS WORKING PROPERLY. CONSUMER CONCERNED THAT SEVERE VIBRATION COULD LEAD TO LOSS OF CONTROL. *AK *ML

VEHICLE FIRE STARTED ON FREEWAY WHILE DRIVING AT 65MPH, ENTIRE VEHICLE WAS CONSUMED BY FIRE WITHIN SIX MINUTES AFTER DRIVER OBSERVED SMOKE.

DRIVER'S SIDE SHOULDER BELT DOES NOT RETRACT INTO THE RETRACTING MECHANISM WHICH HAS CAUSED THE SEAT BELT TO BECOME INOPERABLE. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WENT TO STOP VEHICLE & NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM WHEEL WELL. STOPPED VEHICLE & CHECKED. NOTICED AUTO. TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKED ON WHEEL & BRAKE PADS ON DRIVER'S SIDE. TOOK TO A GARAGE & INFORMED IT WAS COOLING LINES. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER & INFORMED VIN NOT INCLUDED. SAME INFO. FROM MFG. (96V015000 & 96V0115001).
EITHER DIES AT STOP AND WON'T START OR STALLS AT SPEEDS OF 60-70 MPH & WON'T START UNTIL AFTER SEVERAL TRIES. MECHANIC CAN'T FIND PROBLEM.
THIS PROBLEM STARTED ON LONG TRIPS, THE VEHICLE WOULD QUIT WHILE DRIVING AND WE WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD AND IT WOULD RESTART, THIS HAPPENED ATLEAST ON 4 TRIPS AND 3-5 TIMES ON THOSE TRIPS. WE HAD AN ENTENDED WARRENTY AND TOOK IT IN THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED AND THE FOLLOWING TIMES, THE DEALER, KRENZENS CONTINUED TO SAY THAT IT DIDN'T SHOW UP ON THEIR COMPUTERS, THEY SAID UNTIL IT HAPPENED MORE FREQUENTLY THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED THE VAN WOULD NOT RESTART, HAD TO BE TOWED TO KRENZENS AND THEY FANALLY FOUND THE PROBLEM, WHICH WAS THE FUEL PUMP. I KNOW OF 2 OTHER VEHICLES THIS HAPPENED TO BOTH CHEVY LUMINAS.
FOUR (4) SEAT BELTS HAVE FAILED IN THE LAST SIX (6) MONTHS SINCE 7/98. *AK
COMING TO A STOP & STARTED APPLYING BRAKES. BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT MOVE. LOCKED UP. FOOT ON BRAKE. HEARD A NOISE. FINALLY PEDAL MOVED. TOOK TO DEALER & MECHANICS COULD NOT LOCATE REASON FOR BRAKES/BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT WORK. HAS HAPPENED 8 DIFFERENT TIMES. *AK
BOTH FRONT SEATBELT RETRACTORS HAVE FAILED WITHIN THE PAST MONTH LEAVING THE SHOULDER PORTION OF THE 3-POINT SYSTEM INOPERABLE.
POWER WINDOW CANNOT BE STOPPED BY DRIVER, CAUSING INJURY.

THE DRIVER AND TWO REAR SEAT BELTS HAVE FAILED. THE INSIDE MECHANISM USED FOR THE RETRACTION OF SEAT BELTS IS PLASTIC AND IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO WITHSTAND ANY PRESSURE.
