ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION
This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. General Motors LLC (GM) notified the agency on July 3, 2014, that they are recalling 5,877,718 model year 2000-2005 Chevrolet Impala and Monte Carlo, 1997-2003 Chevrolet Malibu, 2004-2005 Malibu Classic, 1999-2004 Oldsmobile Alero, 1998-2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue, 1999-2005 Pontiac Grand Am and 2004-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix vehicles. In these models, the weight on the key ring and/or road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge. The recall began on September 9, 2014. GM's number for this recall is 14350.

THESE HEADLAMPS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THESE LAMPS DO NOT CONTAIN THE REQUIRED AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS.

MY PONTIAC'S IGNITION KEY HAS FALLEN OUT OF THE IGNITION ON AT LEAST THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE I'M DRIVING/TURNING. IN ADDITION TO THE KEY FALLING OUT OF THE IGNITION, THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMES HARD TO STEER AND I HAVE TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT TOOK PLACE ONE DAY AFTER MY CAR WAS SERVICED AT A LOCAL GM DEALER IN RELATION TO THE 14350 UNINTENDED IGNITION KEY ROTATION POST CARD I RECEIVED IN THE MAIL. I DID CALL THE GM DEALER TO REPORT THAT THE CAR WAS PRODUCING THE SAME HIGH RISK ISSUES AND THAT I COULD COME UP THERE AND SHOW THEM THIS SAME PROBLEM WHILE THEIR STAFF IS ALSO IN THE CAR. I WAS TOLD " WE FIXED THE RECALL PROBLEM YOU MUST HAVE ANOTHER ISSUE THAT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL." I HAVE HAD MY CAR SINCE NOVEMBER 2014. I GO INTO THE MALL FOR A FEW HOURS AND COME BACK OUT TO START MY CAR AND THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN IN THE IGNITION. I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL AND EVERYTHING ELSE I COULD THINK OF. STILL NOTHING... I HAVE IT TOWED TO A GMC ( WINEGARDNER BRANDYWINE MARYLAND).. THEY TELL ME I NEED A NEW IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER ( $851.00) BECAUSE I CAN NOT AFFORD THAT HEFTY REPAIR I HAVE IT SENT TO MY PERSONAL MECHANIC AND THE CAR TURNS ON PERFECTLY FOR HIM. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW A CAR CAN GO A WEEK AND A HALF WITHOUT TURNING ON. MULTIPLE PEOPLE TRIED THE KEY AND THEN THE CAR TURNS ON. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR AT ALL.
