At approximately 135,000 miles my automatic transmission began "slipping" or lurching while accelerating. I took the car to a Nissan dealership, as well as 2 local mechanics, and all 3 sources have told me that my transmission is having identical symptoms to the recalled Versa models that previously
... had transmission issues. I'm now forced to replace the transmission before it hopefully goes out completely (the CVT). The problem has been diagnosed and reproduced by 3 separate auto mechanic shops, including one Nissan dealership in Colerain, Ohio. There have been absolutely no warning lights, messages, or signals from the car. When I accelerate from a stop, the car lurches at about 20-25 MPH. When I'm driving on the highway at a steady, high speed, I don't have the issue.Read more

My 2018 Ford F-150 had 85,000 miles on it when the transmission began to slip out of gear, delays in shifting, gets stuck in neutral, and or slam back into gear. My wife was barely able to get home from work, and experienced dangerous driving conditions due to the failing transmission. Her attempts
... to merge onto high speed roadways became dangerous when the vehicle would suddenly lose drive during the merge. We fear what might have happened if she was attempting to make a left on green and the transmission suddenly became stuck in neutral. This truck has the infamous 10R80 Ford 10 speed transmission that thousands of people have reported as defective. Ford has refused to compensate me in anyway, and the Ford dealership has quoted me $9,000 dollars to have the transmission replaced. Ford issued a TSB on this faulty transmission, but has refused to issue a recall despite the widespread failure of this part and the safety concerns.Read more

UNKNOWN On January 24,2026, I was thankfully traveling only about twenty mph a block from my home and something happened in the front drivers side suspension that caused me to almost hit three parked cars. Once I got stopped, the car couldn’t get get pushed forward, won’t roll at all forward, l
... ike it’s in park, but in neutral we were able to push it backwards to the house. It seems that it could be what is described in recall 069. However when I put my vin in it said zero recalls. I see a letter to the original owner of this car, but I don’t see any info with the recall being repaired. The car hasn’t been worked on yet as we had a huge snowstorm the night the car broke and have since had sub zero temps and I’ve not found anyone to work on it in front of my home in this weather. How should I proceed? How can I get more info in regards to if this recall was remedied on this car?Read more

Roughly one to two times per day, a notification pops up on the infotainment screen stating that the brakes need to be serviced due to the brake assist system failing. The vehicle has been brought to 3 different dealerships and none of them know what the problem is, how to fix it, or whether it is s

I purchased my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 truck around May 2022 at a used car lot. It had low mileage so I thought I did great. Immediately after I brought it home, it began to die. I figured it had a really old battery so I purchased a new one. This one would last around 3 days instead of the one day b
... efore dying. I would drive it and jump it over and over. I tried to contact the dealer over and over but they would not respond to my calls. I wrote a terrible review about them in Yelp and they contacted me immediately, but when I attempted to schedule a time to drop the truck back off, they stopped responding again. About 9 months later the truck stopped turning over all together. We found that the fuel pump was the issue. It sat for a year until I had it towed to the mechanic, who fixed the fuel pump, but found that the car would only run for a few seconds. He continued to diagnose it, and after weeks, he tells me that there is something terribly faulty with the electrical system, but he is stumped as to what it is. He says he does not see where anyone has tampered with the system at all, but there is something mysterious about the electrical component. I have put so much money into this truck including having to pay insurance and a high monthly payment for a dead truck. Please help me. I can provide documents after I meet with mechanic who still has truck.Read more

Since the lithium battery is so large this could have spread and burned the entire vehicle, possibly harming my wife, our dog and myself. Tesla, in multiple cars that I own, has repeatedly changed user-preferences of user-selections, without warning, or update notes, for a variety of functions. This seems to be a consequence of sloppy software coding and seems to coincide with new software releases. In recent months, Tesla has attemp
... ted to inform people of new software update functionality with ‘release notes’. However, these notes seldom, if ever, explain that a user’s preference is getting discarded (though could be restored -- if the user were aware). One example, is the operation of ‘Traffic Aware Cruise Control’ was changed from a double click of a scroll wheel to a single click. No release nor or manual page was called out to indicate the change — at least prior to this driver’s noticing and diagnosing the problem. Nor was any pop-up message explaining the new, and surprising functionality of a ‘double-click’ — which was to momentary activate and deactivate TACC. Other functions that get changed, without notice: 1) operation of automatic windshield wipers is deactivated (and set to ‘manual) — from the user-preference of ‘auto’; 2) Auto park chimes sounds are turned off — despite a user-preference setting them to 'on'. These changes to the UI, necessitating guesswork using the large glass screen, prove to be highly distracting to a driver in the midst of driving. In addition, these undocumented and un-communicated changes lead the consumer to contact Tesla and even setup ranger service to make a repair for what ends up being a sloppy manual — to the detriment of Tesla’s effectiveness of their Service Department. If Tesla cannot make the user interface operate in a coherent manner day-to-day, there is no hope that any alleged full self driving will avoid reverting to some unknown configuration on unknown time scales. Perhaps Tesla should repurpose engineers that make video games for the car to the purpose of regression testing to avoid surprises like these.Read more

When using the car in "i-Pedal" (one-pedal driving) mode — the highest brake regen setting — the car can come to a complete stop whenever I lift my foot off the accelerator pedal, without touching the brake. While in this mode, when I fully lift my foot off the accelerator, the rear brake ligh
... ts illuminate as expected, however, I often slowly reduce pressure on the accelerator pedal to come gently to a stop. I've noticed that it's possible (and often the case) that I can decelerate to a full stop without the brake lights illuminating until I fully release the brake pedal (at the very last moment before I stop). This means that I can be slowing down at a pretty significant rate without any indication to the drivers behind. Conversely, when using the automatic cruise control (that keeps the car a set distance from car ahead), the brake lights seem overly active and flash on and off quite frequently, especially when going down hills (even if there is no deceleration and the car seems to be coasting). Both of these anomalies seem to aggravate other drivers following the car for different reasons, since the vehicle's intent isn't being properly communicated. The lack of expected brake lights when decelerating gently via i-Pedal mode seems potentially dangerous. I would recommend that Hyundai tune their software so that the brake lights illuminate automatically past a set threshold of deceleration/regen braking (above what would be expected if the car were simply coasting), but not requiring the driver to fully lift off the pedal, since at that point, the rate of deceleration is already uncomfortably high for typical driving.Read more
