My 2021 Sorento randomly gets stuck in between gears, slipping into neutral and rev'ing up to 4000-5000 rpms. This is at lower speed usually within a mile or so of leaving my house. It's very frightening and has happened to me dozens of times, but I live in a rural area over an hour from a Kia deale
... rship, and they do not offer loaners. This issue first arose for me after the transmission oil pump recall was already addressed. I am the 2d owner, and suspect this could be why the previous owners sold the car, which I bought through Autotrader from the Heiser dealership in Wisconsin. After the latest episode, I finally arranged alternate transportation and took it in to the Serra Kia dealership in Jackson, TN. They have had it over a week and not been able to replicate the issue so far. No computer codes show up on it either. They say there's no technical advisory on the issue, and have no idea what's going on with the transmission. Serra Kia is saying that Kia corporate will not approve replacing the transmission without an error code. From reviewing other owner reviews in Kia forums, the Kia 2021 Sorento slipping into neutral while driving appears to be an issue for others as well. It is dangerous, as I could be rear-ended. Quite honestly, it’s terrifying, and I am afraid to drive the car again without this issue being addressed.Read more

3/23 I noticed my coolant reservoir was empty. The vehicle was involved in a minor accident in 12/22 and so I thought coolant slowly leaked out due to the accident. The vehicle was repaired at a collision center so I was concerned they didn't repair or totally missed the leak. I filled it up and
... took the Explorer for an oil change and that is when the mechanic informed me that I had a small coolant leak. I contacted the collision center and my insurance and both were stating that was from wear and tear. They also proceeded to tell me that is a big issue with the Explorers and certain other vehicles. They mentioned a lawsuit was filed in MA because of this issue. The leak start to get worse, causing me to constantly refill the reservoir with coolant. Always had to have coolant in the vehicle because you just never know. I take the EXPLORER to Ford for a diagnostic and they confirmed it was the internal water pump. This seems to be an issue and recalled because of a defective part or the way the vehicle was built. The leak can happen at any time and mine had 114,000 miles. My other 2010 Ford F150 has 180,000 miles and I have never had this issue. Needless to say, I had to for over $2,300 for the dealership to repair.Read more

I have have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk with the V6 Engine, On Sunday May 28th I was driving home and started to notice a burning rubber smell and when I got home I started to look at the Engine to see if a belt or something else was causing the smell then I noticed a oil leak. I called the loca

After they looked it over they called me to tell me The PTU P/N 68333255AE was leaking and also shows signs on Metal in the oil. They said it needed to be replaced. The service Rep said they couldn't order the part because they are on back order with no date of availability. The service Manager said they are well over 500 of them on back order. I'm still waiting on my extended warranty to approve the repairs and the dealer then to try and locate a Part. This problem had a recall on older models but this year was not included in the recall.Read more

When automatic start/stop is engaged and I am stopped at a light, the engine does not restart when I release the brake. There are audible and visible indicators of the problem on the dash, with "IGNITION ON" and "Engine Stopped Press Brake Firmly to Restart" displayed on the dash. I had to put the
... car into Park in order to manually restart the engine. The problem seems to happen on drizzly days when I use the wipers on various intermittent settings. This is a safety to my car and others because of the engine stopping. The vehicle has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center. I contacted multiple dealers, but was told that they would need to actually reproduce the problem to diagnose, making it difficult to schedule a service appointment due to the specific weather conditions required. The dealers told me that I would have to pay for the service appointments even though the problem occurred with less than 400 miles on the car, then again with less that 1,000 miles.Read more

CURRENTLY IN 2020 THE 2011 VEHICLE IS AT 5 BARS MEANING THAT IF THE BATTERY ONLY LOST ONE BAR IN THE LAST YEAR THE BATTERY WOULD HAVE TO HAVE LOST MORE THAN 50% CAPACITY WITHIN THE TIMEFRAME THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THE 8 YR/100,000MILES EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE ME WITH ANY VEHICLE BATTERY INFORMATION ALTHOUGH THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE DEALER DID CONFIRM THAT THE WARRANTY WOULD HAVE BEEN IN EFFECT LAST YEAR. THEY THEN QUOTED ME $6600 FOR A BATTERY REPLACEMENT. AFTER RESEARCHING I FOUND A LETTER FROM NISSAN WHICH STATES THAT THE VEHICLE WARRANTY WOULD BE EFFECTIVE FOR 2011 MODELS WITH IMPLEMENTATION STARTING SOMETIME IN SPRING OF 2013. NISSAN SO FAR IS NOT WILLING TO REPAIR THE BATTERY OR ASSIST IN THE REPAIR ALTHOUGH THE WARRANTY WOULD HAVE COVERED THIS ISSUE. THE VEHICLE HAS COME CLOSE TO TURNING OFF WHILE I'VE BEEN ON THE ROAD. AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHES INDICATING AIR BAG SYSTEM INOPERATIVE. IT CAN BE RESET BY RECYCLING THE CAR ON/OFF 3 TIME WITHIN CERTAIN TIME LIMITS. THE LIGHT STARTS FLASHING AGAIN WITHIN ABOUT 5-20 MILES OF DRIVING. SAME PROBLEM ON OTHER NISSAN LEAFS THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY RECALLED. NISSAN DEALER WANTS $2

THE NISSAN CUSTOMER AFFAIRS OFFICE INSISTS THAT I PAY THE DIAGNOSIS FEE DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE DASH BOARD LIGHT ALREADY DIAGNOSES THIS PROBLEM, WHICH ALONG WITH THE KNOW HISTORY OF NISSAN LEAF CLEARLY POINTS TO THE KNOWN PROBLEM. NISSAN CUSTOMER AFFAIRS SAYS "WE WILL CONSIDER GOOD WILL ASSISTANCE" - AFTER I PAY THE DIAGNOSIS, BUT LATER IN THE CALL NOTED THAT THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY SO IT IS CLEAR NO GOOD WILL ASSISTANCE IS BEING CONSIDERED. THE DEALER SERVICE MANAGER (HAYWARD) TELLS ME THAT HE HAS HAD A NUMBER OF LEAFS IN WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHING AND IT COULD BE "ANYTHING FROM A LOOSE CONNECTOR TO THE WIRING HARNESS," WHICH INTERESTINGLY IS A SET OF POSSIBILITIES THAT EXCLUDES THE SENSOR/SEAT REPLACEMENT WHICH IS THE WELL KNOWN FIX. I CALLED NISSAN, WHO TOLD ME THAT IT IS TOO FAR OUT OF THE WARRANTY, AND THEY CANNOT HELP ME. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT TRIED TO GET ME A COURTESY REIMBURSEMENT, BUT HE WAS UNABLE TO CONVINCE THE HIGHER-UPS, AND ALSO COULDN'T EVEN CONVINCE THEM TO REIMBURSE THE AMOUNT I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE DEALER CONFIRM WHAT I ALREADY KNEW ABOUT THE DEFECTIVE PART (ANOTHER $145). I CAN ONLY ASSUME IT'S BECAUSE THE SENSOR IS TOO DIFFICULT TO REPLACE CHEAPLY. AN INSPECTION BY STEVENS CREEK NISSAN (4855 STEVENS CREEK BLVD, SANTA CLARA, CA 95051) ON 12/12/2018 FOUND THE SAME BURNING SMELL AND REPORTED THAT A "FUSE IN THE ON-BOARD CHARGER (IS) FUSING". THEY OFFERED NO FURTHER EXPERTISE ABOUT THE CAUSE EXCEPT TO RECOMMEND A REPLACEMENT OF THE ON-BOARD CHARGER. ON THE SAME DAY, NISSAN NORTH AMERICA WAS CONTACTED AND ASKED TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE AND REPLIED THAT THEY REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM ON 01/11/2019. THE ATTACHED IMAGES INCLUDE THE TECHNICIAN'S REPORT FROM NISSAN STEVENS CREEK AND PHOTOGRAPHS OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE THERMAL DAMAGE AND COMBUSTIBLE SOOT BUILDUP WITHIN THE ON-BOARD CHARGER, WHICH NOT ONLY CHEMICALLY CORRODES ELECTRONICS, BUT ALSO CAUSES OVERHEATING AND PRESENTS A FIRE HAZARD.Read more

OCCUPANT SENSOR FAILURE IS PREVENTING THE PASSENGER AIR BAG FROM DEPLOYING. THE CODE IS REPORTED AS A B1013. AS THIS MODEL WAS DESIGNED WITH A SENSOR WITHIN THE SEAT, THE OFFICIAL ACTION IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SEAT, FOR AN ESTIMATE OF $3133.51. THIS IS HIGHLY COST PROHIBITIVE FOR A SAFETY FEATU
... RE THAT SHOULD NOT PREVENT AN AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT.Read more

THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON AND INDICATES THE AIRBAGS ARE OFF AS I UNDERSTAND IT. WENT TO NISSAN AND THEY SAID IT WOULD COST $5,000.00 TO REPAIR AND REFUSED TO CORRECT THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE! RECENTLY I GOT A NISSAN LEAF. BATTERY HAS BEEN ACT INCORRECT MILES .I DROVE 2 MILES IT COUNT AS 5 MILES. CHARGING WAS INCORRECT. I WAS CHARGE ON QUICK CHARGE TOOK ME 40 MUNITE FOR 30 MILES.
Incident date: May 15, 2018
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT AT AROUND 35 MPH, THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. SUBSEQUENT DIAGNOSIS SHOWED A B1018 CODE THROWN BY THE LEAF, WHICH INDICATES THAT THE PASSENGER OCCUPANCY SENSOR HAS FAILED. THE CODE WAS RESET AND STAYED OFF, BUT AGAIN ABOUT 5 DAYS LATER, THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED. T
... HIS TIME, THE CODE WOULD NOT RESET. I WAS QUOTED $2700 IN PARTS AND $300 LABOR BY THE DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM, WHICH WAS UNECONOMICAL AND MORE THAN HALF THE VALUE OF THE CAR. THE CAR ONLY HAS 53,000 MILES AND IS ONLY 7 YEARS OLD. I CONTACTED NISSAN CUSTOMER AFFAIRS AND THEY WOULD NOT HELP WITH THE PRICE OF THE REPAIR AT ALL. I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT NOT REPAIRING THE SENSOR WOULD RESULT IN ALL AIRBAGS BEING DISABLED, SINCE THE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. IT SEEMS LIKE A BIG SAFETY ISSUE THAT IF THE PASSENGER OCCUPANCY SENSOR FAILS, ALL AIRBAGS ARE DISABLED. WE WILL HAVE TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR AND CANNOT AFFORD A $3000 REPAIR TO A $5500 CAR. THIS SAME PART IS RECALLED ON 2013-2015 LEAFS AS WELL AS MILLIONS OF OTHER NISSAN CARS. IF THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE, MAYBE IT SHOULD BE RECALLED ON THE 2011-2012 LEAF AS WELL.Read more

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SEAT SENSOR WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED.
