FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2011-2012 Nissan Juke vehicles previously remedied under recall 12V-069. During that recall remedy, the fuel pressure sensor may not have been properly tightened, potentially causing the sensor to loosen and leak fuel.
Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will tighten the fuel pressure sensor to the proper torque, free of charge. The recall began on April 24, 2018. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669.

The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Juke. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and decelerated to approximately 5 MPH. The accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to respond as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but recurred at various speeds. The vehicle was towed to two different independent mechanics who were unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Juke. The contact stated that while attempting the start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to respond as intended twice, and then the vehicle turned off independently after the third attempt. An independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with fuel pressure sensor failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V683000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 106,000.

SRS AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHES CONTINUOUSLY. STARTED ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO (MARCH 2024) TOOK CAR TO REPAIR SHOP, STATED OCS CONTROL UNIT AND PASSENGER OCCUPANT SENSORS NEED TO BE REPLACED. TOOK TO A NISSAN DEALER FOR 2ND OPINION. STATED TODAY THEY WILL REPLACE OCS CONTROL UNIT & PASSENGER OCCUPANT SENSORS. IS THIS SOMETHING THAT COULD BE COVERED BY A RECALL EVENT?
Timing chain needs replacement however the timing chain was already replaced in 2014 under Nissan recall NTB14-030c campaign P4213. This car has 54,000 miles on it and has been serviced at Nissan dealerships according to the Nissan service schedule. There is no reason for this part to need replacing again after so few miles unless the Nissan part was bad, there is an underlying manufacturing issue with the vehicle or the recall replacement was done incorrectly. Nissan Consumer Affairs refuses to assist because the car is out of warranty.
I have a 2012 Nissan Juke and every one of the door lock actuators has had to be replaced. The problems started early on, but the door locks intermittently fail when using the key fob or external door button. Using the internal door lock button is more likely to work even when the key fob and external button fail. Because the failures are intermittent, it is hard to get this diagnosed and replaced at the dealerships. I have had to take the car to the dealership many times, pay a $200 diagnostic fee and then sometimes they replace the door actuator and sometimes do not. Over the past 4 years I have replaced 3 of 4 door actuators and will be replacing the 4th door actuator now. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs regarding the issue, as it is a known issue, but they refused to assist because the car is no longer under warranty.
The car smelling of burning and is not safe to drive.
Sept 2022 i bought my 2012 Nissan Juke from Jeff Wyler’s Nissan King AutoMall. April 23 the left, lower ball joint/axle (drivers side) broke. Needed fixed. Almost $2,000. I specifically asked them to check right sided ball joint/axle. Oh it’s fine. We checked it out and it’s all good. Less than 3 months later-the right sided axle and ball joint broke. It only took over 6 weeks and 3 different places (discount tires, tire discounters and Jeff Wyler’s dealership) to figure out what was wrong with my vehicle at this time. This time it cost me more (but since jeff wylers mechanics fix things and then jack up the price by $800) it actually cost me $1550 to fix it this time.I could have died. On both occasions and now it feels like the backend of my juke is shaking apart. I’m scared to death to drive my vehicle and I’ve told Jeff Wyler I think they sold me an unsafe vehicle and I am now terrified to drive it. But it’s the only car we have in our family and I can’t afford to buy another one. You have no idea as to how terrified I am to drive my car now; especially with that rear end shaking. omg! I’ve never owned a Nissan before and this is my last I have also asked Jeff Wyler’s dealership-wouldn’t this have been caught on their inspection of selling a used car? Wouldn’t the mechanic in April seen signs/symptoms of stress on the right sided ball joint when they looked at it when they fixed the left side? How do things like this get missed? & put MY LIFE IN DANGER as well as every other person on the roads while I drove with broken axles and ball joints? How can they sell vehicles that are not safe? omg! You cannot comprehend the terrified feeling along with anxiety/nausea and just pure terror of driving a vehicle that shakes still and where I’ve had to fix 2 separate massive breakages in the driveway mechanics or frame (idk. The 2nd time it happened; I thought its a bad tire). I am now more religious and spiritual because of this. I now pray several times daily

Belt in the engine snapped made the car overheat leak oil and radiator fluid. Mechanic said there was a recal for this issue.
The timing chain exploded as noted in the service bulletin: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2015/SB-10055923-4231.pdf Nissan is claiming that this model/VIN is not covered under this bulletin when it clearly is.

The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Juke. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaking fuel. There was an abnormal odor of fuel detected. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the sensor needed to be tightened and the fuel pressure sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed him that the fuel pressure sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.
Recently a strong gas smell in cabin after starting engine for the third time. After noticing the smell of gasoline a faulty fuel pressure sensor was serviced 12/2/2015. No charge at Puente Hills Nissan. Smell of gasoline again. $782.56 paid to Cerritos Nissan on 1/25/19. Although 2012 Nissan Jukes had a factory recall due to gasoline smell, I was told that my VIN number was not included.

I’m having problems with 2012 Nissan Juke CVT Transmission. The dash light turned on “SERVICE ENGINE SOON”. Should I take to a Nissan Dealership. Thant you
Timing Chain: National Consumers reported my vehicle replaced the timing chain in 2018 prior to my ownership. Now it has failed again to the tune of $3K at 88K miles. The Nissan Dealership will only guarantee warranty for 1yr or 12k miles which seems sub par. How can a voluntary recall on the timing chain only be effective up to 2014 when obviously it seems to be a problem with the whole engine design. I will not drop $3k every 3-4 years to replace a part that should last longer than a belt or at the minimum of 120k miles if not the life of the car. I’m asking the National Consumers hotline to open another recall on this lemon. The additional issues are the car not starting, after replacing 2 good batteries within 2 years, an independent mechanic replace a relay between the brake and the ignition and it has worked ever since. Crossing my fingers… Also notable is the rinki-dink hood latch that quivers at high speeds. I often wonder when my hood will fly up into my windshield.
WHILE ON THE 405 FREEWAY I SUDDENLY LOST CAR SPEED. I WAS FLOORING THE GAS BUT THE CAR BARELY MOVED. [] SHAKEN UP AND SCARED. [] SUGGESTED I PUT ON THE CAR HAZARD LIGHTS AND PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THE NISSAN JUKE TRANSMISSION MUST HAVE BEEN OVERHEATING SO IT SHUT DOWN. [] WAITED ABOUT 30 MINUTES AND WAS ABLE TO START MY NISSAN JUKE AND DROVE TO []'S PLACE. I ALSO CALLED AAA TO MAKE SURE IT WASN'T A PROBLEM. EVERY TWO (2) YEARS ONE OF THE HOSES ON THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM BURSTS DUE TO EXCESSIVE PRESSURE AND SPEWS THE CONTENTS OF THE SYSTEM ALL OVER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. P4213 JUKE F15 TIMMING CHAIN UPDATE NTB14-030, NISSAN LAUNCHED THIS VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN ON APRIL 25, 2014 ON CERTAIN 2011-2013 NISSAN JUKE VEHICLES TO OFFER CUSTOMERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO REPLACE THE TIMING CHAIN, CHAIN GUIDES, AND CRANK SPROCKET AT NO CHARGE TO THE CUSTOMER FOR PARTS AND LABOR. ON NOVEMBER 26, 2014 I TOOK MY 2012 JUKE TO TEMECULA NISSAN WHERE ON NOVEMBER 26, 2014 WAS TAKEN FOR SAID RECALL, AFTER 2 YEARS OF DRIVING MY CAR A SOFT CLACKING SOUND STARTED TO WHICH ON ONE OF THE OIL CHANGE ROUTINE I ASKED TEMECULA NISSAN SERVICE REPAIR PERSON TO CHECK AND HE DISMISSED IT AS NORMAL NO PROBLEM. FAST FORWARD TO AUGUST 2020, THE CLACKING SOUND IS LOUDER AND MY MOTOR IS NOT RESPONDING WHEN ACCELERATING. I ONCE AGAIN ON SEPTEMBER 3, 2020 TOOK MY CAR TO TEMECULA NISSAN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TO REVEAL THAT IT IS IN FACT THE TIMING CHAIN WHICH IS CAUSING THE PROBLEMS AND HAS AFFECTED CAMSHAFTS AMONG OTHER THINGS THAT WILL AMOUNT TO A TOTAL OF $1,400.00 JUST TO BE ABLE TO OPEN THE MOTOR AND SEE THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE FAULTY TIMING CHAIN, NOT INCLUDE TOTAL REPARATION OF THE PROBLEM. WHEN I BROUGHT UP THE 2014 TIMING CHAIN RECALL, AT FIRST THEY DID NOT HAD ANY RECORD OF RECALLS FOR A TIMING CHAIN ON MY CAR, TO WHAT I CLAIM TO HAVE PROVE OF IT, THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN DISMISSED IT AS AN EXPIRE WARRANTY ISSUE THAT WAS FIXED FOR FREE BUT CURRENTLY OUT OF WARRANTY, I RESPONDED THAT THAT WAS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE BUT A DEFECTIVE PART RECALL, HE INSISTED THAT REGARDLESS OF BEING A RECALL ISSUE IT WAS ONCE REPAIRED AND THAT WAS IT. NOW I AM LEFT WITH AN AUTO THAT WAS PERHAPS NEVER FIXED AND WITH A LONGSTANDING RECALL PROBLEM THAT PERSIST. THE TIMING CHAIN CAUSES MY CAR TO NOT RESPOND WHEN THE ACCELERATION PEDAL IS PRESSED ON EITHER ON A FREEWAY OR ANY INTERSECTION PUTTING MY SAFETY AND MY FAMILY SAFETY AT RISK.

THIS JUKE HAS BEEN GREAT UNTIL NOW A WEEK AGO. IT HAS INTERMITTENTLY FAILED TO START. ALL THINGS CHECK OUT GOOD THAT USUALLY CAUSE THIS. THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, STARTER, ETC. WE HAVE HAD IT LEAVE US STRANDED AND THE MECHANIC CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN SENT OUT ABOUT 2011-2013 JUKES SAYING NISSAN KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEMS. HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT IT AND LESS THAN HELPFUL. THEY WANT TO CHARGE 160$ TO SEE IF THEY CAN DIAGNOSE IT , BUT IT MUST FAIL IN ORDER FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE. THE PROBLEM WITH THAT IS THAT IT DOESN'T ALWAYS FAIL. THERE ARE MANY DAYS IT STARTS WITHOUT ISSUE. I UNFORTUNATELY DON'T HAVE AN EXTRA VEHICLE TO HELP GET MY FAMILY AROUND WHILE THEY KEEP IT FOR SEVERAL DAYS. WE BOUGHT THIS CAR USED, AND HAVE HAD NO ISSUES UNTIL NOW. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. SEEMS NISSAN SHOULD OWN THE FAULT AND THAT DEALERSHIPS SHOULD KNOW HOW TO HELP CUSTOMERS IT DOESN'T ALWAYS FAIL TO START AFTER IT HAS BEEN SITTING. IT COULD HAVE BEEN DRIVEN AND THEN TURNED OFF TO GET GAS, AND THEN WON'T START. OH AND IT ALWAYS STARTS AFTER THE BATTERY HAS BEEN JUMPED OFF. WHAT IS THAT ABOUT SINCE THE BATTERY TEST GOOD. SEEMS ELECTRICAL, OR SOFTWARE UPDATE SOMETHING. PLEASE HELP.IT SEEMS THAT OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD THE ECM REPROGRAMMED AND THAT HAS SEEM TO HELP RESOLVE THE ISSUE. SOUTHWEST NISSAN IS AWFUL.

MY NISSAN JUKE SHUT OFF WHEN I SLOWED DOWN TO A COMPLETE STOP AFTER GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY. IT SOUNDS HORRIBLE WHEN I TURN THE CAR ON. LIKE A CLICKING SOUND. ON YOUTUBE I LOOKED UP THE TIMING BELT ISSUES WITH THE NISSAN JUKE AND IT WAS THE EXACT SAME SOUND. BUT THERE WAS ONLY A RECALL ON THE V8 NISSAN JUKE SO I COULDN'T GET IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT ALSO SLOWS DOWN WHEN I GO UP TO 60 TO 70 MPH.

MY VEHICLE HAD STARTED TO STRUGGLE WITH LOSING SPEED/POWER WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK AGO. BEGAN TO NOTICE A RATTLING NOISE ALONG WITH OIL LEAKING FROM MY VEHICLE'S ENGINE A FEW DAYS AGO. TOOK IT INTO THE NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT RIGHT WAY. TODAY I WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN HAD BEEN STRETCHED AND WAS SCRAPING AGAINST MY ENGINE, CREATING A HOLE AND REQUIRING A NEW ENGINE. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY TIMING CHAIN COMPLETELY FAILED I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DEAD. NISSAN QUOTES ME AT 9000+ DOLLARS TO REPLACE MY ENGINE. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT LISTED UNDER NISSAN RECALL ID 277139 & ID227697 AND SHOULD BE DUE TO I HAVE OBD CODE OF P0087 & P0090 WHICH IS A FIRE HAZARD FUEL LEAK LOW PRESSURE RAIL RACK AND I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER OF JUKES THAT ARE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH VIN NOT COVERED WHEN THEY SHOULD BE. WHAT IS GOING TO TAKE A LOSS OF LIVES

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN JUKE. WHILE DRIVING, THE TIMING CHAIN FRACTURED OFF INTO THE ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO KELLY NISSAN OF WOBURN (95 CEDAR ST, WOBURN, MA 01801, (781) 835-3500) TO BE DIAGNOSED. I ARRIVED AT AN OUT OF TOWN DESTINATION TO FIND I HAD OIL COVERING THE MOTOR. MECHANIC STATED THERE WAS A 2" GASH IN THE FRONT COVER OF THE TIMING CHAIN, WHICH WAS COMING FROM THE INSIDE OUT. GOOGLE SEARCH REVEALED THERE WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT WHEN I CONTACTED NISSAN, THEY SAID MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED AT A DIFFERENT PLANT AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL. MECHANIC FIXED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THE ISSUE WAS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND WAS NOT CAUSED BY WEAR OR NEGLIGENCE.
