CERTAIN AJ MOTORSPORT COMBINATION LAMPS SOLD AS REPLACEMENT LAMPS FOR USE ON THE ABOVE LISTED PASSENGER VEHICLES. COMBINATION LAMPS NOT EQUIPPED WITH AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS FAIL TO CONFORM WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT.
Remedy: AJ MOTORSPORT WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE LAMPS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 31, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT AJ MOTORSPORT AT 626-618-2026.

THIS ISUZU RODEO HAS GONE THROUGH 4 TRANSMISSIONS IN THE PAST 1 YEAR AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE IS GOING BAD. I HAVE PUT OVER $3000.00 INTO THIS VEHICLE AND IT STILL IS HAVING PROBLEMS. I HAVE TALKED TO ABOUT 10 PEOPLE THAT ARE GOING THROUGH THE SAME PROBLEMS HERE IN THE OLYMPIA AREA. THE COTTMAN TRANSMISSION COMPANY GAVE ME A WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION BUT THEY KEEP TELLING ME IT IS SOMETHING ELSE BESIDES THE TRANSMISSION. THEY TELL ME NOW THAT IT IS THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND THEY REFUSE TO GIVE ME A WARRANTY ON THIS ITEM SINCE IT IS AN ELECTRICAL UNIT.. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS CONSTANT PROBLEM? THE VEHICLE IS ONLY WORTH ABOUT $3000.00 AND NOW I HAVE OVER THAT JUST INTO THE TRANSMISSION.. COTTMAN WILL PUT THE SECOND TCM IN FOR ANOTHER 1000.00 AND HE SAID IF THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD AGAIN ALSO THE WARRANTY IS VOID BECAUSE OF AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. FRONT BUMPER COLLAPSED FROM IMPACT. INSPECTION BY AUTOBODY REPAIR REVEALED THAT BUMPER WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED WITH A RECONDITIONED UNIT THAT APPARENTLY HAD BEEN STRAIGHTENED AND REPLATED. PREVIOUS OWNER WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT AN EARLIER ACCIDENT HAD REQUIRED BUMPER REPLACEMENT AND THAT HIS INSURANCE CARRIER WOULD ONLY REPAIR DAMAGE WITH A RECONDITIONED PART. AS BUMPERS ARE A SAFETY ITEM, IS THERE ANY REQUIREMENT THAT AN INSURANCE CARRIER MUST REPAIR WITH ORIGINAL PARTS? I EXPERIENCED AN OIL LEAK FROM THE TOP OF THE ENGINE @ APPROXIMATELY THE 90,000 MILE MARK. I RECENTLY HAD THIS FIXED BY RAY FLADEBOE ISUZU (IRVINE, CA.). THE RECEIPT DESCRIBES THE PROBLEM AS: REPLACING THE V.C. GASKET, OIL LEAKS FROM ENGINE, REPLACED VALVE COVER GASKET. AFTER HAVING THIS DONE, I RESEARCHED THE INTERNET FOR ANY ISUZU ENGINE RECALLS. I CAME ACROSS "NHTSA CAMPAIGN I.D. # 94V132000. THIS DISCUSSES A RECALL DUE TO AN ENGINE OIL LEAK (HOWEVER IT SEEMS THAT IT MAY ONLY APPLY TO THE TROOPER). I CROSSED REFERENCED THIS RECALL NOTICE WITH ANOTHER ONE. THIS OTHER ONE WAS FOUND ON THE "CONSUMER REPORTS ONLINE" PAGE. IT STATES BASICALLY THE SAME THING ONLY IT BROADENS THE MAKES AND MODELS INVOLVED. IT ADDS THE HONDA PASSPORT ('94), AND THE ISUZU RODEO ('93-94) TO THE LIST. ALTHOUGH MY VEHICLE IS A 1992 ISUZU RODEO, I DID EXPERIENCE A SIGNIFICANT ENGINE OIL LEAK AT A RELATIVELY LOW MILAGE (EST. 90,000 MILES).
