My 2021 Infiniti QX50 has suffered a catastrophic internal engine failure. This vehicle is explicitly covered under active federal safety recall NHTSA Campaign 25V437000 (Infiniti Campaign R25A8/A9 / R25B1/B2) for defective, failing main and link bearings. The Infiniti dealership is actively refus
... ing to honor the mandated federal recall remedy. The service department is attempting to illegally bypass the safety recall mandate by blaming the presence of engine sludge and claiming they do not visually see metal shavings. They are demanding that I pay out-of-pocket for a consumer-pay engine replacement. Under federal law, a manufacturer cannot deny a safety recall remedy based on vehicle maintenance history or engine sludge. Furthermore, the massive friction and overheating caused by the defective, failing recalled factory bearings directly causes and accelerates oil breakdown and sludge. The dealership is using the presence of sludge to mask a federal safety defect.Read more

This vehicle has 70K miles and the fuel pump died, confirmed by Dick Smith Ford in Columbia, SC. There were no warning lights or messages via our Ford app. There were no symptoms prior to failure. ... ve been hit by cars behind us or stuck on the train track with a train approaching. We were in the middle of the road on a train track in Columbia, SC, 2.5hrs away from our home. Our family waited 2.5hrs for the vehicle to be towed and then had to take a $200 Uber from Columbia, SC to Charleston, SC to get home. The quoted cost to repair the vehicle just to get it back home is $2,000. Ford has recalled all the Ford trucks for 2021 that use this same engine. Ford has recalled the 2022 Expedition which is identical to the 2021. Ford has recalled the 2021 Lincoln Navigator that is the same platform as the Expedition only aesthetically upgraded. I believe they didn't recall the 2021 Ford Expedition due the the volume of cars that would be recalled. Read more

The contact owns a 2016 Toyota Prius. The contact stated that while the vehicle was on and running, the ABS and traction control warning lights illuminated, and the messages "Braking Power Low - Stop in a Safe Place”, “See Owner's Manual", "Braking Power Low - Visit the Dealer", and "ABS Malfunc

The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and DTC: C14B6 was retrieved, indicating that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired; however, the code was cleared. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where the information from the dealer was relayed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,028.Read more

The component that failed on my 2014 Kia Optima was the engine. Prior to the malfunction there were no lights indicating a failure. My safety was put at risk several times as my car had completely shut down on the highway going over 55 mph in way of many vehicles causing police to shut down the high
... way. I took the car to several auto shops to test and there was no indication of engine failure. I’ve got my battery checked, front end alignment and oil changed on schedule. The car still malfunctioned. I had it towed to the Kia dealership in March after learning about the recall on the engine. The dealership confirmed that the engine was faulty and had been recalled. There were several other recalls on that model as well. After keeping my car for a few days and charging me a service fee, they decided not to repair the engine saying that the software was not updated prior to the engine failure and they refused to repair. I was instructed to remove my car from the facility. I called their corporate office and a representative also denied my claim saying that the mileage on my car was too great. I have not been able to get in touch with anyone that can help. The car is located in a shared parking lot amongst hundreds of tenants and close to residential areas. I don’t believe it is a safe area if there is a fire risk but Kia refuses to honor their recall. The car is available for inspection upon request if needed.Read more

[XXX] U.S. Army), Active-Duty Service Member (Stationed at Fort Knox, KY / Residing in Brandenburg, KY) I am reporting a severe structural manufacturing defect involving the room slide-out assembly on the driver-side flank of the vehicle body. Certified diagnostic testing and structural tolerance l
... ayouts executed by the component manufacturer, Lippert (LCI Case #[XXX]), and servicing dealership technicians (Camping World) have confirmed that the main slide-out housing and framing elements were installed, aligned, and integrated completely out of structural tolerance directly at the Thor Motor Coach assembly plant during production. This structural defect constitutes an uncorrectable manufacturing deviation. Because the slide-out mechanism is fundamentally misaligned within the main load-bearing sidewall of the motorhome, it repeatedly binds, undergoes severe component stress, and fails to close or seat flush against the secondary seals. Operating a 11,000lb+ commercial-chassis motorhome with a structurally out-of-tolerance slide-out housing introduces substantial safety hazards to public highways: Catastrophic Unintended Deployment: The mechanical stress and structural warping prevent the locking mechanisms and gear teeth from seating safely. Vibration at highway speeds risks structural latch failure, which could result in a partial or full unintended slide-out deployment while traveling at high speeds. Because the slide-out frame cannot close symmetrically, the structural integrity of the main driver-side wall is severely degraded. This creates asymmetrical aerodynamic drag and hazardous crosswind vulnerability, risking dynamic instability and potential vehicle roll-overs or lane-drift. In the event of an evasive driving maneuver, the shifting, misaligned mass of the slide-out can cause unpredictable chassis twisting and severe stability control failures, endangering my passengers and sharing motorists. FORMAL COMPLAINT: CONSUMER FRAUD & SAFETY VIOLATION Dealership: Germain Toyota West (Columbus, OH) Case Reference: #[XXX] To the Consumer Protection Division: I am filing a formal complaint regarding Theft by Deception, Gross Negligence, and Reckless Endangerment by this dealership. 1. THEF
... T & BILLING FRAUD On Oct 24, 2025, the dealership charged me $455.00 for labor to install rear sway bar links. I provided my own parts. The technician (Maciah Houpe) failed to install the parts but still charged me. He later admitted via text message: "I did not do your rear links... you didn't pay for rear links." The dealership has refused to refund this money despite the written confession. 2. PROPERTY DESTRUCTION During the attempted repair, the technician used excessive force and bent the vehicle's "wheel rod" (Tie Rod), destroying the steering geometry. The technician later admitted to a witness that he was fired for "bending the wheel rod" on my vehicle. 3. RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT (SAFETY VIOLATION) The dealership released the vehicle to my family on Oct 26, representing it as "safe." After a near-miss incident on [XXX] where the steering failed at highway speeds, Management admitted to my wife that they knew the vehicle "might be lucky to make it to the North Side" before failing. They knowingly released a vehicle with a critical safety defect onto a public highway. 4. RETALIATION When I contacted Toyota Corporate to complain, the technician texted me: "You blew up the spot coming through Toyota... they can't help you." The dealership then revoked a "cure offer" (towing/rental) purely as retaliation for my consumer complaint. ATTACHED EVIDENCE: Please see the attached "Master Case Brief" and "Exhibit A" (PDFs). I am filing this complaint regarding a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe that is subject to an active safety recall for a high-voltage battery defect that can lead to overheating and fire. Despite the known fire risk and lack of repair, I am being required to continue leasing the vehicle and make payments, and the manufacturer has refused to offer a buyback, replacement, or penalty-free lease termination because there have been no warranty repair attempts. I am concerned that I am being forced to continue using or storing a vehicle with a known and acknowledged fire risk that the manufacturer cannot currently repair. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE SINCE SUBARU COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ORIGINAL OVERHEATING PROBLEM IN THE TRANSMISSION. THEY MADE AN EDUCATED GUESS REPAIR TO SEE IF IT FIXES THE OVERHEATING PROBLEMS IN THE TRANSMISSION WHICH MAY MALFUNCTION DURING DRIVING THE VEHICLE,SLIPPAGE, TO LOCKINGUP. This
... afternoon, while my daughter was driving through the Mojave Desert on her way back home to Mammoth Lakes, Ca.; her dash light came on- AT OIL TEMP Warning, forcing multiple stops to cool the vehicle. The trip back to Hacienda Heights took over four hours (4) in extreme heat. I’ve attached a photo of the dash warning for your reference. After she called me from the road, I instructed her to turn around and wait for the warning light to turn off. (Google’s guidance emphasized cooling the transmission before resuming travel). Thankfully, the route [XXX] from Mojave was mostly downhill, which helped reduce strain on the vehicle—but it was still a stressful and exhausting experience. MY LETTER SUBARU I need to be candid: my time and patience are wearing thin. I’ve remained cooperative throughout this process and paid about $644 out-of-pocket for repairs specifically recommended by Ocean Subaru—including the initial solenoid replacement, CVT oil cooler, and thermostat. While I appreciate that the remaining repairs were performed under goodwill, the original overheating issue remains unresolved, and its root cause is still uncertain. SUBARU HASN'T REPAIRED THE PROBLEM. S Regarding future repairs or services, we cannot guarantee coverage until the details of any needed repairs are identified and thoroughly reviewed. The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure was not duplicated. Addition
... ally, the contact received notification of Customer Satisfaction Program 14M02; however, the dealer informed the contact that there was no indication of transmission failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was informed that the repair could not be covered under an unknown special program or recall. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the safety failure. The failure mileage was approximately 144,000.Read more

I have my 2014 Dodge Ram in for service for my ABS module replacement, part number 68228991AD, after the ABS light and traction control light came on. I have been told the part is on back order and has been for quite some time. The dealer has called other dealers to locate the part, and all are in t
... he same situation, cannot locate that part. This is a safety issue to do with the braking of the vehicle and if continued driving with a faulty ABS Module, could lead to brakes locking up or vehicle not stopping when needed. How can this part be on back order so long and people having to take risks and drive their vehicles with the issue as they may not having anything else to drive. My vehicle has been at the dealer since July 10th, 2025 awaiting this part. They tell me they do not have a date as to when it can be expected to arrive or if it will arrive. They gave recommended to me not to drive the vehicle in this situation as I could be in accident when the brakes are needed. This needs to be addressed and this part should be recalled as I have done my own investigation online and there are lots of people with this same problem and unable to get the part. Some people have become desperate and purchased refurbished or used ABS modules for this same vehicle and paid a significant amount for it just to have it fail just shortly after installation. Driving with a faulty ABS module can be risky as it disables the ant-locking system, potentially leading to wheel lockup and reduced steering control during braking, especially in slippery conditions. This needs to be addressed by your organization as the safety of human beings and their families are at risk of accidents with potential deaths.Read more

Car started issuing a burning smell, emitting a noxious burning smell through the air vents making it impossible to drive with the windows closed. The HVAC system had to be shut off. The Ioniq 5 and all E-GMP Hyundai vehicles have known issues with the charging port and ICCU (integrated charging con
... trol unit). This vehicle has had all previous recalls related to charging and the ICCU addressed, but it has still resulted in failure of the vehicle charging port. Dealership stated charging port needed to be replaced, but stated it would not be covered under warranty with now explanation provided despite the fact that this is still covered under several recalls.Read more
