Went to drive 18 minutes away from where I originally parked to get something to eat. When I came back to my original parking spot, I went into work. Thirty minutes later, my car was on fire and completely gone.

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle failed to properly respond. The oil warning light was illuminated, with a clicking sound was coming from the engine. Additionally, there was smoke coming from the vehicle. The dealer where the vehicle was purchased was contacted, and the dealer sent a tow truck to tow the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with a blown piston due to the vehicle being driven the wrong way and causing engine failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 119,515.
Defective connecting-rod bearing(s) that wore out prematurely and damaged the engine while driving on the interstate at approximately 70 MPH. Vehicle has less than 80,000 miles. My engine immediately lost the ability to accelerate sufficiently, but I was able to pull off the next exit and have the vehicle towed to the dealership and grabbed a Lyft home from Richmond to Williamsburg, VA. Vehicle is at the Williamsburg Hyundai Dealership now being diagnosed and I am awaiting their call and repair determination, and I have had my vehicle serviced at the same dealer for many years. When the vehicle's engine "broke" I heard clunking noises and the oil pressure light came on.

There are literally hundreds if not thousands of people with Hyundai vehicles with the 3.8 engine from 2010-2016 with blown engines because of rod bearing failures with anywhere from as low as 60,000 miles to 150,000 miles. How many have to fail and leave people stranded before somebody does something about it. My car engine failed at 116,000 and has been at the dealership a month already and their not doing [XXX] about it to fix it. It'll cost me and everyone else thousands of dollars. These 3.8 engines are just as likely to fail as all the Hyundai 2.0 engines that are currently being recalled. Somebody need ls to do something about it cuz I'd say there will be a lawsuit coming for Hyundai in the near future INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Complete engine failure due to connecting rod bearing failing on my car on Thanksgiving day. Conveniently Hyundai has a open recall on their Sonata, Santa Fe and Santa Fe sport, and the Veloster for this exact issue but not on the Genesis coupe? What kind of [XXX] is that? And of course I'm 16 thousand miles past the factory drivetrain warranty. What a joke, looks like I'm never buying a Hyundai again. My VIN# does not appear in the Recall Listing of Hyundai vehicles that are at risk for fires, but 2014 models should be. The original engine was replaced on 12/9/2020, as something melted inside, causing it to seize up. It was replaced with a used engine, with only 51,000 miles. My engine compartment caught on fire, on 10/3/2021, while my son was driving the vehicle on the highway. This model also needs to be placed on the recall list for fire risk!

I OWN A HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE 2014, WITH 60K MILES. I MAINTAIN MY CAR BOTH THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR. THE CAR IS PEARL WHITE PAINT, IT IS TURNING YELLOW AND CHIPPING OFF THE CAR. SOCIAL MEDIA HAS HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINT ABOUT THE PAINT ON HYUNDAI CARS. THE PAINT IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT.I AM ASKING FOR YOU TO RESEARCH AND RECALL THE PAINT ON HYUNDAI CARS. I WOULD LIKE MY PAINT CORRECTED AND COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER/HYUNDAI COMPANY. I WOULD HAVE REPORTED THIS EARLIER BUT I DIDN'T KNOW THIS WAS AN OPTION. I TRIED CONTACTING CORPORATE AND LOCAL CAR DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. THEY WILL NOT STAND BY THE PRODUCT OR THIS VERY COMPLAINT. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO GET THE PAINT CORRECTED. THANK YOU!

SO I HAD BOUGHT MY GEN COUPE 25 DAYS BEFORE IT HAD BLOWN UP. WHEN PURCHASED I DID ALL THE REGULAR MAINTENANCE. 4,000 MILES LATER. THE ENGINE HAS OIL ISSUES AND DROPPED A CYLINDER AND BLEW THE ENGINE. I HAD FINANCED THE CAR AND NOW I'M STUCK WITH A BROKEN CAR AND EVERY SHOP WANTS TO CHARGE ME 10-15K FOR A NEW USED ENGINE. I'M LOST AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. IS THERE ANYONE ELSE DEALING WITH THE SAME ISSUES?
