Rear-view camera displayed on rear-view mirror quit working, creating a blind spot behind the vehicle. No accident has yet occurred, but the danger is there. The vehicle is available for inspection. Ford has issued a recall for this problem for this year, make, and model vehicle, but Ford says that the recall is not extended to vehicles like mine that were manufactured in a plant not covered by the initial recall #25V270, which has recently been extended. My vehicle has not been inspected by any third party, nor has the problem been confirmed by any local dealer, althought I have spoken to my local dealer, Sarasota Ford, twice about this issue. No warning lamps or messages have been displayed in my vehicle. The camera just goes to a blue screen, especially when the weather is warm or in the heat of the day.
In hot or humid conditions, the 8 inch center display flashes on and off intermittently. This failure makes the backup camera unusable, which is a safety problem. It also makes controlling the navigation or radio very difficult. The dealer has looked at this vehicle problem a few times in the last five years and has been unable to duplicate the problem. I cannot force this to occur at the dealership service department. Because the weather condition needed to duplicate this problem rarely occur near my home getting service for this is very difficult. Once the heat or humidity has subsided via using the air conditioning, the problem goes away after an hour or so.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40-60 MPH, the vehicle started vibrating abnormally and was almost uncontrollable. The contact held the steering wheel tightly. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the driveshaft coupling had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in a related recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 480,000.
09/18/25 As per conversation with Ford Customer Service; while the vehicle falls within the Mfg Date (Oct 19 2017) and Mfg Place (Kansas) listed on recall notice 25S89 AKA 25V572000, 25V270, the issue description -"rear view camera distorted or blank" is still not eligible because it falls outside of Fords approved/listed VIN numbers. Ford Customer Support recommended having the issue repaired at local dealer and pay out-of-pocket and 'hope' that Ford acknowledges this VIN as part of a 'possible' future recall. How can I/we/you be assured that Ford will review this particular issue and consider it for recall? Are there other vehicles like mine that have this ongoing issue that Ford has deliberately excluded?
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2018 Ford Transit. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to the Ford dealer for service, the contact was informed that the vehicle was a Lemon vehicle, and that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 33,135; however, upon retrieving the Carfax history report of the vehicle, the Ford dealer informed the contact that the vehicle mileage was 240,000.
My 2018 Ford Transit 250 experienced a failure of the Input/Turbine Speed Sensor in the 6R80 transmission’s mechatronic lead frame at approximately 60,000 miles. The failure was confirmed by an authorized Ford service department, which retrieved DTC codes P0715-00 and P0717-00. These codes indicate that the turbine speed sensor signal is lost, forcing the transmission into limp mode, causing loss of power and erratic shifting. This is a serious safety concern, it can occur suddenly while driving and results in loss of proper gear control. Relation to Recall 19S07 Ford has already acknowledged this same defect in other vehicles using the 6R80 transmission. In Safety Recall 19S07, Ford recalled certain 2011–2013 F-150, Expedition, and Navigator models due to failure of the Output Shaft Speed (OSS) sensor in the 6R80 lead frame. The failure mode, symptoms, and remedy (lead frame replacement and PCM update) are identical. In my case, the failure is of the Input/Turbine Speed Sensor rather than the OSS sensor, but both are housed in the same lead frame assembly and both result in sudden sensor failure, limp mode, and unsafe driving conditions. Why Action Is Needed Despite the identical defect, Ford has refused coverage because my VIN is not included in Recall 19S07 and my vehicle is just outside the 5 year / 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. This exclusion leaves Transit owners unprotected even though we are experiencing the same premature failure Ford already acknowledged. Given the safety implications, I am requesting NHTSA to investigate whether Recall 19S07 should be expanded to include Ford Transit vehicles equipped with the 6R80 transmission. Hi, I bought this Ford 150 transit brand new back in 2018. About 6 months ago my rear camera is not working properly, sometimes the screen is dark or the view is real fuzzy hard to see cars when backing up. I called Ford corporation to see if this has a recall , but no such luck. They did file a complaint form of the issue. Will let me know when there is a recall. I'm worried that someday i'm going to back up and hit a car or a person, Also i do use this van for work to transport people. Its hard to see with a large full size transit van. I think this should be a recall for these transit vans its decently a safety problem. Please let me know. We was going to a week long camp.The individual in the front passenger seat said to the driver that he was not feeling good and told the driver that he was going to take a nap. Before he laid back he looked in the back of the van to check on the kids. As he looked back one kid appeared to be having a seizure. So the driver immediately pulled over. I was following in another van. So I pulled over and went up to the van to see what the issue was and opened the side door. The kids was all hanging there heads sick and vomiting.We hurried and called 911 for help.When the medics got there they informed us of carbon monoxide poisoning. So we took the van to the next town and dropped the van off at the dealership and had to rent another van to go on with our trip. So on our way back home we picked the van back up from the dealership. It was after hours so we called ahead and paid for the repair. They replaced the rear door seal. How ever before we picked it up we purchased a co detector to put in the van. We went a very short distance and the alarm went off. so we had to travel the rest of the way home with the windows down approximately 10 hours. We now have the van at another dealership back closer to home. the dealership is now telling us there is a plug missing under the van and that we need to buy a tail pipe extension that ford has designed to get the exhaust fumes out from under the van. they are also telling us that the vehicle will not pass a state safety inspection with it dumping the exhaust fumes under the van and this will be repaired at our expense. Now my question is if there was not a design flaw why did Ford design a tail pipe extension? Also as i drive down the road I notice all the newer van have an extended tail pipe. Also would the tail pie not be part of the emissions and if it is why would this not be covered by the 8 year 80000 mile emissions warranty? this is a very serious situation. The cam phasers started giving us issues at 47,000 miles. At the time, Ford told us this was a normal thing with these vehicles and there was no concern. Now that I am at 103,000 miles, the phasers have gotten a lot worse where the vehicle stalls and misfires, along with a loud rattle at startup. Ford will not replace them under warranty now that I am out of warranty, even though I brought the vehicle in while it was in warranty and was told it was normal. This is an extremely common issue with the 3.5L Ecoboost engine, and something needs to be done about it. Ford already has a warranty extension program for the F150. They need to extend that to the other vehicles with the same engine that have the exact same defect.

On March 7, 2023, at approximately 1:45 PM, Bus 437 had caught fire in the engine compartment of the vehicle while sitting in the parking lot. The bus had just came off of a route minutes before & the driver had reported the dash tell tale (warning) lights had come on. The Operator switched the engine off and then noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment area prior to the thermal event. The fire caused significant damage & the vehicle is a total loss; the engine compartment, bus body, interior as well as exterior and top cap of the bus were affected. An independent firm was hire to conduct the fire investigation ( EFI Global, Inc.) & determined the source of the fire to be a power supply from the vehicles jump box; however our history with alternator failures & consumption of these components combined with my mechanical experience leads me to believe that the root cause of this has been overlooked and the alternator failures need to be further investigated for public safety reasons. I have engage the dealer principal (Creative Bus Sales, Inc.) who we purchased the vehicle from whom is working with Ford on this matter. The Alternator is the component that I want investigated & the one in question has not been removed from the vehicle however we did break down 3 alternators from our inventory of failed cores & the findings support my theory as the alternator (diodes) being the culprit of the failures. The cause of the fire is believed to be a situation created when the single alternator overheated causing the diode bridge to fail & alternator to ignite. We have experienced alternator failures on this group of buses since the vehicles inception into the fleet going back to 2018. 38 of these model buses were purchased & placed into service in 2018 & we have replaced 283 alternators since they were placed into service (very high consumption/failure rates).

This is an update on the same problem I reported a year ago...January 2022, it started to shudder during acceleration but it was intermittent. February 2022, it started to occur more. March 2022, it started to do it while cruising at a higher speed on the freeway. Then going up a steep hill one day, it started to shudder and could not exceed more than 30 mph up a very steep hill. The transmission is progressively getting worse...It seems to stay in 1st gear and then jump to 6th gear...and now I smell some burning...There is a recall on the Ford Focus transmission for the same reason...Although it may be a different transmission, the problem is a carbon copy of my Ford transmission...This should be a RECALL ISSUE because it is happening a lot in other documented cases. Please inform us of the steps to get this issue INVESTIGATED and RECALLED.
I ordered 195/75R-16C Cooper Hercules Terra Trac tires for two different vendors on Ebay. Four from one vendor , two from another. The two tires I got from one vendor, had a manufacturer date code of 2622, which is good. The other four tires had NO date of manufacture code anywhere on them!!! Isn't this against the law?

Multiple occurrences after traveling on the highway and then slowing down or when coming to a stop, the vehicle autonomously makes one or more very hard downshifts. It is enough to unexpectedly propel the occupants forward in their seats/seatbelts. ...while driving approximately 35-40 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and went into limp mode. The shuddering and vibrations along with the slipping of gears and the inability to go uphill before it goes into limp mode...The vehicle would not accelerate above 20 MPH. There's a recall on the Ford Focus and the problem is a carbon copy. Reading about other Transit vans having the same problem, I felt that I should make you aware of the issue.

THIS VEHICLES ARE BUILT WITH TWO WENT OPENING ON TOP OF THE ENGINE HOOD. THIS WENT OPENINGS ARE FOR HEAT SYSTEM TO SUCK THE AIR IN FOR HEATING OR DEFROSTING. PROBLEM WITH THIS OPENINGS THEY ARE GETTING BLOCKED WITH SNOW OR ICE IN SNOWY WEATHER AND AREN'T ALLOWING ENOUGH AIR TO ENTER IN TO A VEHICLE TO HEAT IT. YOU CAN SOLVE THIS TURNING THE SWITCH TO INTERIOR CIRCULATION BUT AT THAT TIME ON THIS OPTION DEFROST FUTURE GOING OUT AND THERE IS NO WAY TO DEFROST WINDOWS BASICALLY IF THE WENT OUTSIDE ON TOP OF THE HOOD FROZEN OR BLOCKED WITH SNOW.
