Slow speed brakes shudder or grab way to hard causing vehicle to stop abruptly and clunk.
I STARTED THE CAR AND MY ENGINE WONT TURN ON ONLY HYBRID SYSTEM. THE MAINTIENCE LIGHTAND ENGINE LIGHT APPEAR WITH FUEL DOOR OPEN ERROR AND TRACTION OFF AND DRIVER ASSITANCE OFF . I THEN JUMP STARTED TRUCK . TRUCK ENGINE THEN TURNED ON AND SAME ERRORS LIGHTS STILL APPEARED . BUT I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO GEAR NOW WITH JUMP START . HOW EVER TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I PUSH GAS PEDAL . BUT IF I LET GO OF THE BRAKES , THE TRUCK WILL SLOWLY ACCELERATE ON ITS ON . AND SPEED UP TO 30-40 MPH WITH OUT PRESSING THE GAS .

On November 9th, the vehicle became undrivable with the following alerts: "Stop safely now", "Pre-collision assist not available", "Check Brake System", "Front Camera Temporarily not available", "service vehicle soon", "service advance trac", "hill start assist not available" The accelerator was non-functional; however, when releasing the brake pedal the vehicle starts to accelerate, without pressing the accelerator. Dealer said they are unable to reproduce the event. This is the second time this has occurred with this vehicle, previously submitted complaint on this same VIN.

Restraints indicator warning lamp for passenger side went off repeatedly in August (four times). Took into dealership where they replaced what they said was a faulty seatbelt tensioner. Now, the same indicator warning is going off again, two times, 9/28, 10.4. Either the part is still bad, or the sensor is defective. I suspect the latter, but it's hard to know.
The contact owns a 2024 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact became aware that the front driver's side door middle hinge was not properly welded. The contact stated that the front driver's side door was not properly welded when the vehicle was manufactured. The contact stated that the failure caused issues while rolling down the window. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the failure was confirmed. The contact was informed that the driver's side front door needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The manufacturer agreed to a 40 percent discount on the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
At approximately 42K miles, front wobble upon acceleration. Front axels replaced under 60k power train warranty
On sept6,2025 while driving on highway at 65mph truck went into limp mode so you could not accelerate although trying to and the speed of the truck decreased. Had to pull off to berm of road for safety. Turned truck of and it appeared to reset itself and there were No Warning lights on dashboard when this occurred. This could have been a deadly accident if I wasn't able to get off on berm as quickly as I did! Vehicle will be scheduled with dealer this week! But this is an ongoing problem as stated in Ford maverick community website.

Significant shaking in the front end during acceleration due to CV axle failure
I was flat towing the vehicle behind a motorcoach. I pulled off the interstate and made a gradual left turn. The maverick started to violently wobble. Pulled off to the side of road and could not tell if anything was wrong. Spent the night at a campground. Next morning I had a steering assist warning come up.

After parking next to a gas pump to refuel, I twice pulled the hood-release handle on the left-side kick panel to check under-hood fluids. The gas pump did not accept my payment, so I drove to a second pump which also did not accept my payment. At this point I drove to a second gas station. As I approached 35 mph moving air suddenly caught the unlatched hood, then lifted and flipped it until it landed against the windshield. The hood severely obscured my view while the vehicle was still. Even so, I was able to peek under it enough to limp into a restaurant parking lot, where I stopped the vehicle and moved the hood back to its locked position. The hood latch mechanism does not incorporate a secondary safety hook designed for release while standing in front of the vehicle grill. Nor does the vehicle have an instrument cluster warning light or a DIC (driver information center) alert like it does for a passenger-compartment door not fully closed. Ideally, the vehicle should have an electronic interlock that prevents driving it until the hood is fully closed.
Truck is draining its battery after sitting in a downtime period. (6-12 hours) leaving me stranded. This has happened more than 20 times since 12/26/2024. I DO HAVE INFORMATION TO SUBMIT FOR SHOP (VISITS), HOWEVER AT THE TIME I AM FILLING THIS OUT I HAVE NO WAY TO ENTER THAT INFORMATION HERE. THE SHOP HAS HAD THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES AT THE LONGEST 20days STRAIGHT, UNKNOWN HOW MANY DAYS TOTAL. Most of the shop visits concluded with either battery charges OR battery changes. I have been told by Ford Dealership Maintenance Shop many times they have no idea what is going on with the vehicle. I have digital proof from the Ford app when this happens. My concern is that I have noticed that Ford is removing Digital information off of the app that supports my case. ALSO, They have started to “lose my paper work” when I go to pick up my vehicle from their shop. My vehicle has ONLY been to the dealership shop where I purchased it.

On the Maverick hybrids there has been a battery issue since they first came out in Dec. '21. I first had a 2022 hybrid and would get the message "vehicle is in battery saver mode" frequently. When this would happen I would have no interior lights when I opened the doors and could not start the vehicle or check any information, tire pressure, fuel, etc through my phone app. So charge battery and drive and the message goes away. The dealer did replace the battery once since it was defective. I kept that truck for 26 months and then purchased a 2024 Maverick hybrid in Feb '24 thinking this issue would be resolved. Nope, issue was worse if anything. Started getting the same issue in just a few months. Dealer checked and replaced a defective battery in October 2024. Within 5 weeks started getting the same issues again. Dealer said battery checks good. There seems to be either a parasitic drain on the battery, a software issue regarding the charging of the battery or completely defective flooded batteries. In April 2025 Ford must have realized a problem because they started installing an AGM in the factory on the hybrids. they also issued SSM 53801 which was a software update on the A?C module that could be causing a parasitic drain. I had that done TWICE. Still have the same issue. The dealer says they can find nothing wrong and says I just need to drive my vehicle more, keep it on a battery maintainer and carry a power pack to jump start in case it doesn't start. I have been on a website [XXX] since July 2021 and this has been overwhelmingly the number one complaint about the Maverick hybrid. Ford was supposed to have had a recall in the first quarter for a software update to deal with a deeper charge of the battery but that never happened. We imply that the government step in and have Ford do a recall to replace all the defective flooded batteries with the AGM that they are now installing on the 2025's and/or do the software update promised. While driving on onramp to the interstate the engine shut down and warning came on pull over now. All power was lost. The APP showed power train fuel control module could not connect. I tried to restart but had no power. On 6/16/2025 I took the vehicle in for repair (could not get appointment). It was returned (could not duplicate problem). On my way home it happened again engine lost power while driving. The vehicle was brought back to Ford. This time it was returned 6/25/2025.

At approximately 10 pm driving on the interstate at approximately 65 mph, I was attempting to accelerate to 70 mph and my speedometer was decreasing in speed even though I had my foot on the accelerator. I had to pull off to the side of the interstate that has a very narrow shoulder. My car was not able to accelerate. I had to turn it off and turn it back on and then it appeared to work as usual. This has happened twice now. I took it into the dealership to have it fixed and they said they updated the control module unit and replaced my battery due to other issues I’ve been having with the car. No warning lights came on, and the car still appeared to be on and in drive when the incident occurred. The component has been inspected and the dealership said they repaired the issue, which was not the case, due to the same thing reoccurring approximately 10 days after the “repair” was made.

The contact owns a 2024 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while driving up a hill at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power without warning and stalled. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle restarted independently. The contact stated that several days later, while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled and restarted independently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not yet been diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,500.
This is the 3rd of 4th time this has happened since owning this truck. While driving at freeway speeds I would lose acceleration. I would step on the gas pedal and nothing would happen. I would have to coast to the side or middle of the freeway. June 11th 2025 around 8am while doing 75 in the HOV lane I lost acceleration and had to stop in the median. After coasting to a stop I would turn off the car and wait about 30 sec then turn car back on. Then continue without furture issues. I took a video of issue but could not upload a .MOV
The rear camera warnings both visual and beeping sound did not activate while backing up. Safety of others was put at risk not warning them that the vehicle was backing up. Because of this failure, I backed into a pole causing the driver's side tail light to be cracked. The problem was reported to Fairway Ford who could not reproduced the failure. They contacted Ford "hotline" and Ford refused to acknowledge the failure. No police report was filed. Ford did not offer to inspect the vehicle. There were no former problems prior to this incident.
Crash
Repeated failures of accessory battery resulting in powertrain failures. One incident disabled the response of the accelerator. Acceleration was only achieved by releasing the brake pedal and the vehicle slowly accelerated up to approx 35 mph. Battery has been replaced/repaired by dealer 4 times already, with a 5th pending shortly. Accessing the battery to jump start the vehicle requires lifting the back seat, including detaching car seat installed in the rear of the vehicle.

On 3 separate occasions, the following problem occurred. When towing in back of Motorhome (in neutral tow mode) while making a left turn from a full stop the towed vehicle (Ford Maverick) began to shake violently. The wheels turned opposite direction causing shaking so violently that I felt the motorhome being pulled left and right like a violent wobble. I quickly slowed to a stop and then proceeded slowly forward, and the wheels straightened out and everything was OK again.
I was in drive, then I put the vehicle in park, then quickly swapped to reverse while apple car play was connected, and the back up camera did not come up. After a minute the console screen went black (I have a picture) then restarted as if it had crashed.

On April 5th, 2025 I was driving about 20-30 mph and braking down a slight hill. When I went to accelerate up the other side of the hill the vehicle would not accelerate while pushing on the throttle. There were no check engine lights or errors while the vehicle would not accelerate. I pulled over to the side of the road and turned the vehicle off. Upon restarting the vehicle it appeared to function normally and continued driving for about an hour home. I have not reported the incident to Ford or the dealer.

My battery will not hold a charge. This will not allow me to remote start or unlock doors. The interior lights don’t come on at night. It happens probably 10 times a month.

4 months after purchase my battery slowly went dead until I had to jump it. Taken in to Dealer 3 times before the first battery was replaced. They installed a higher CCA battery and after 2 months there are signs it is slowly being drained. In November when I first brought this in, I was told there is an SSM 53087, stating there is parasitic voltage draw when the truck is off. The fix for 2022 thru 2024 Mavericks will be coming the 1st quarter of 2025. Here we are and no fix. My dealership said don't worry about it your under warranty and there is no solution yet. But as long as you are under warranty we will replace your battery. I called Ford customer service today and there is still no fix. What happens if battery goes dead while I'm driving, it's a hybrid.
