My 2022 ford Maverick is constantly sometimes several times a day and sometimes several times a week , but since 6 weeks after purchase I have been getting powertrain fault , engine fault and hybrid battery fault alerts from my ford pass my check engine light comes on my s service wrench light comes on also and my vehicle has reduced power. As well as my battery is constantly needing to be jumped. The dealership says my Battery is fine although I’ve already replaced it twice at my exspence. I’ve had to pay for diagnostics and pcm updates supposedly to fix these problems but no resolve. My vehicle goes into reduced power while driving 75 mph up the interstate and will not excellerate causeing the vehicle to coast to a stop. After sitting a while it can be started and driven. Today I received all three faults at 10:20 am so I went to my ford.com and done a health check and it says my vehicle is healthy with no engine or power train faults. But my ford pass alerts , my dashboard warning lights , and the performance of my vehicle says otherwise. I have been put in many situations on high speed roads and my vehicle will not accelerate. Often times it is necessary to jump my battery for I can move my vehicle. These issues are a constant safety hazard to all the drivers on the road when a vehicle suddenly loses power at high speeds. After 4 years of fighting with ford for a resolve I need help. I have seen numerous recalls issued addressing these very issues but they are not issued for my vin although the data on the recall states the recall pertains to vehicles made at the hermacillo Mexico plant . Which mine was on Dec 2021. I feel like my vin somehow is being overlooked and I’m not recieving the recall for the repairs. I also believe that due to the electrical issue my truck can not retain the obd codes. I have taken my vehicle to several dealerships all telling me different resolve which I pay for and no resolve. Please help

Just picked up vehicle after having a new battery installed. Was getting pop up on dashboard every few seconds that electrical saving mode was active. Then all of a sudden the truck shut off while driving about 45 mph on a busy road. Dash said switch to neutral to start vehicle which i tried but nothing happened. Truck coasted to a stop and would not start or even shift into neutral to push it off of the road. The dashboard was flashing pretty much every warning possible including stop safety, shift system failure, parking brake , battery saver active etc. The truck continued to not start or shift. Tow truck was called and it was towed home.

Experienced excessive wobbling/shaking during acceleration. Ford replaced both axles at 38K miles. 30K miles later I am experiencing same issue. Replacing axles this frequent is abnormal and is an indicator that parts being used are not meeting the requirements needed for this vehicle.

I received the 2022 Hybrid Ford Maverck XLT on March 2023, and had first 12V battery replacement on August 2023 as it was dysfunctional leading to car stalling. On 01/11/2026, the truck suddenly got stalled during drive due to the dysfunction (8.0V) again of the 12V battery, which triggered several error codes. The 12V battery was replaced again on 01/12/2026. I drove the truck home and found later that system alert with "Electrical Power Saver Active". The truck stalled again on 01/13/2026 at traffic light near school zone. The police had the truck towed to Tire Express per SOP. The truck was then diagnosed at local Ford dealer as: "multiple accessory / entertainment modules have software level that may be contributing to 12V battery drain / degredation". Obviously, this is the truck defect can may pose catastrophic risk to driver and surrounding drivers. I searched Google and found more 2022 Maverick with such serious issue! My total cost of repair and towing from this defect is $1145.11. Thank God that my family was safe during the sudden stalling while driving. I know there is no such recall but Ford should be responsible for the recall to avoid future risks and paying off my cost. Please consider this as a recall! Thank you!!!

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Dec 23, 2025
Fuel tank failure at 18,000 miles and less than 3 years of ownership. I noticed that the vehicle had a strong gasoline smell when I was around it. When looking under the truck, I could see that there was a fuel leak coming from the fill pipe inlet into the fuel tank itself. Took the vehicle under warranty to the ford dealer, and was told that the hose clamp was loose connecting the fill pipe into the fuel tank itself. Was sent on my way with the vehicle, and noticed a smell of gasoline and fuel not even two months later. Took it back to the dealer and was told that they were unable to replicate it. Once the weather got cold again, took the vehicle back after noticing a much larger leak and smelling fuel, and am now being told by ford that the fuel tank does in fact need to be replaced as the tank is leaking from the fill pipe inlet. I am no longer under warranty and was quoted $1100 for this repair. Not only do I find this to be a safety concern as leaking gasoline is extremely dangerous and flammable (plus there are vapors in the air in my garage) but felt that my dealership did not do their due diligence to resolve this issue properly, and now I am on the hook for an $1100 repair that should’ve been taken care of when the vehicle was under warranty. No warning lamps were lit alerting me to this problem, I noticed it by smelling gasoline in my garage near the vehicle.
SERVICE BRAKES Dec 17, 2025
My 2022 hybrid Maverick suddenly lost power as I was driving at 45 MPH. There was no warning lights; the entire dashboard went black. I lost all power including lights, speedometer, and power steering. Additionally, and more concerning, I lost all brake functionality so I could not stop the vehicle, even pressing the brake very hard. The parking brake switch also did not work due to the power loss. The brake pedal would not budge until suddenly after the vehicle completely lost all momentum. In the process blew through a stop sign and I could've easily been killed, or worse, killed other people as I had no control of the vehicle as it coasted. Thankfully nobody and nothing else was harmed as I was the only one on the road, it was just traumatic. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and preliminarily inspected. They decided they want to address a technical safety bulletin for a "no start condition", though the conditions did not match this situation exactly. But they also stated the hybrid/powertrain warranties did not apply, so I rejected the repair due to high cost. It is uncertain if the repair they want to do would fix the issue. It is currently available for inspection upon request, though Ford may try to buy it back soon. It has not been inspected by police or insurance. The only light I can think of was a month before I saw a brief "Charging System Service Soon" warning, but it was only on momentarily (did not persist). I am unsure if this is related.

The 2022 Ford Maverick repeatedly experiences complete electrical system failures, including engine shutdown, loss of power steering, brakes, and the electronic parking brake, while driving at highway speeds, resulting in total loss of vehicle control and creating a life-threatening situation for the driver, passengers, and others on the road; prior warning signs included the 12-volt battery not staying charged and intermittent total electrical power loss, and while no warning lamps indicated imminent failure, the issue was reproduced and documented by a dealership that replaced the battery, performed a BCM relearn, and applied a software update, yet the problem persisted, leaving the vehicle undriveable and unsafe, requiring repeated jump-starts, and demonstrating a fundamental defect in the electrical and control systems; the vehicle is currently scheduled for further warranty diagnostics at a second dealership, and because prior warranty repairs failed to correct this repeat, safety-critical, and life-threatening defect, I request immediate manufacturer investigation, full warranty coverage, and evaluation for vehicle replacement under applicable Lemon Law or consumer protection remedies, as the repeated failure places lives at risk and the vehicle cannot be safely operated until fully corrected.

While driving in local traffic, my vehicle completely shut down. All power was lost. The engine shut off, shift control was disabled and the power steering did not work. Several warning lights were displayed including a "shift to neutral" warning, which was disabled. I was unable to restart the vehicle. After sitting for 10 minutes, the vehicle was started and resumed normal operations. This has happened on more than one occasion. The local dealership has kept the vehicle and cannot duplicate the failure or determine the cause. I am concerned that this could happen on the highway and cause myself or other travelers to be injured.

STRUCTURE:BODY Aug 27, 2025
My 2022 Ford Maverick developed a water intrusion defect caused by improperly sealed body panels under the hood cowl. This defect allowed water to enter the cabin, pooling in the passenger-side floor pan and creating a persistent, extremely strong interior odor. A chemical treatment temporarily masked the smell, but it returned and worsens over time. The vehicle cannot be reasonably operated without rolling down the windows due to the odor, raising health and safety concerns. The defect was difficult to replicate, but eventually the servicing dealer confirmed that the leak occurs when the vehicle is parked or driven at a downward incline with the rear elevated. Repairs were completed at Greenway Ford (Orlando, FL) between August 14–21, 2025. The final invoice was $2,040.55. Ford only provided partial goodwill coverage, leaving me responsible for $918.25 + tax, and refused to cover replacement of the contaminated carpet and padding. I also incurred $312.94 in rental costs because the vehicle could not be safely used. This is not an isolated issue — multiple Maverick owners have reported the same cowl sealing defect on online owner forums. Water intrusion creates ongoing health risks (odor/mold exposure) and may also affect safety-critical electrical components or interior visibility. I request that NHTSA investigate this systemic defect in 2022 Ford Mavericks and evaluate whether a recall or service campaign is warranted.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact stated while driving approximately 50-70 MPH, the vehicle shook violently while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the front CV axles were replaced under warranty. However, three months after the CV axle repair, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the CV axles were on backorder. The manufacturer was later notified of the failure and the contact was informed that parts were available; however, the part was no longer covered under warranty. The contact was provided an estimate to cover half the cost of the repair. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

Vehicle dashboard started flashing a service warning while driving and then immediately going away. Afterwards, electrical system failed when vehicle was put into park. No lights or any electrical functions were working. Issue is consistent with program 22B39. Ford had not contacted me about this issue in the past when it was first discovered.

Both Front CV Axles failed at the connection point to the transmission. Causing the vehicle and steering wheel to shake while accelerating at 45-65 MPH. The manufacturer's dealer replaced both front CV axles under warranty, as per the 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain coverage.

The CV axle (driver's side) started to fail before 22,000 miles on my 2022 Ford Maverick. When accelerating the vehicle would violently shake back and forth. The tires are starting to wear early due to the constant movement. If the CV axle was to break I would lose power and it could damage nearby components (brakes, brake lines, cooling lines). I would be stranded on the side of the road. I did not drive it until I could get to the dealer for a repair. The dealer was very aware of the problem. There were no warning, MIL, or any indication the part was failing. The problem is quite evident on line as most of these parts start to fail before 30,000 miles.0

Car shakes around 50 mph. Took truck to my mechanic and they said it was the front differentials. They told me that there was a tecall for this issue.

CV Joint failing. Vehicle wobbles during acceleration between 55-65 MPH. Began around 55,000 miles - was very minor at first and believed to be tire related. Now, at roughly 67,000 miles the wobble is very prominent.

Windshield cracks. First happened in 2024, nothing hitting the windshield, it cracked. The crack spread and required an entire new windshield that was not covered by any warranty. July 2025 same issue, same area where the crack started last time, on the new windshield. I am concerned about the quality of the windshields installed on Ford Mavericks. One dealership said “the Maverick windshields are known to be incredibly thin and crack”

Water leak/intrusion into cabin Hybrid back from the dealer for a water leak. As a recap, only a few weeks old bought it used and discovered a pool of water under the floor liners I put in Water leaking in through HVAC Box, down past the BCM and onto the passenger floorboard. Lower Cowl seal for the cabin air intake defective. Removed engine bay cowls to access defective part. Damaged seal caused water leak and is apart of the lower cabin air intake cover.

CV axles on front wheels defective resulting in shaking which is felt in the cabin while accelerating. If the CV axle were to fail completely could result in loss of control of the vehicle. The issue has been confirmed by the service department at the Ford dealership and is currently getting the work done to have the axles replaced. This is the second time that the CV axles have failed in this truck. The truck is 3 years old and has 65,000 mi on it. I previously had the CV axles replaced in May of 2024 The issue is not accompanied by any warning, lamps or trouble indicators. There's only a noticeable roughness or shaking inside the cabin while accelerating. I feel that Ford replaces the faulty CV axles with the same defective part and 12-15 months down the road I have to deal with replacing them again.
