PARKING BRAKE:DRIVELINE:HYDRAULIC
ON CERTAIN MEDIUM DUTY CHASSIS CAB VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH HYDRAULIC BRAKES, THE DRIVE LINE PARK BRAKE ANCHOR BOLT MAY BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO FATIGUE LOADING. THE BOLT COULD FRACTURE OVER TIME DUE TO INSUFFICIENT CLAMP LOAD AS A RESULT OF IMPROPER ANCHOR BOLT PLATING.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE PARK BRAKE ANCHOR BOLT. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 6, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673.

ON CERTAIN CAB CHASSIS VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH ACCURIDE ALUMINUM WHEELS, THE WHEELS WERE NOT PROPERLY PRE-STRESSED. THIS ALLOWS CRACKS TO DEVELOP OVER TIME.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE WHEELS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 17, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-650 SD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER FAILED BY NOT DISENGAGING THE CLUTCH IN TIME. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER OR CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER AS WELL AS THE CLUTCH. THE REPAIR ONLY REMEDIED THE ISSUE TEMPORARILY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,460.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-650 SUPER DUTY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY FIVE TIMES. AFTER EACH FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

I AM WRITING IN REFERENCE TO A RECALL NOTICE I RECEIVED ON OCTOBER 11, 2005 REGARDING A POSSIBLE DRIVELINE PARKING BRAKE ANCHOR BOLT FRACTURE ON MY F-650 FORD TRUCK. I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK FROM HUBCO FORD IN ALLENTOWN PA. IT HAS SINCE COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT HUBCO FORD, WHERE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, HAS CLOSED ITS DOORS AND NO LONGER CAN SERVICE THIS VEHICLE. NOT ONLY WAS I NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE CLOSURE, BUT ALSO, THE CLOSEST SERVICE CENTER THAT CAN HANDLE THIS SIZE TRUCK, IS LOCATED IN ANOTHER STATE. THIS REPAIR MAY ONLY REQUIRE LESS THAN HALF A DAY TO FIX, BUT IT IS GOING TO TAKE AT LEAST THAT LONG OR BETTER GETTING THE TRUCK THERE AND BACK. THIS HAS CREATED A HARDSHIP IN TRYING TO GET THIS VEHICLE REPAIRED. I BELIEVE THAT IT IS FORD''S RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY CUSTOMERS WHEN A DEALERSHIP HAS CLOSED ITS'' DOORS AND THERE IS NO ONE ELSE WITHIN A 100 MILE RANGE THAT NOT ONLY CAN''T REPAIR THIS VEHICLE, BUT THERE ARE NO DEALERSHIP TO HANDLE POSSIBLE FUTURE PURCHASES OF A VEHICLE LIKE THIS. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON FROM THIS AREA THAT IS NOW FACED WITH THIS PROBLEM. I SINCERELY THINK THAT FORD CORPORATION NEEDS TO CONSIDER ITS CUSTOMERS NEEDS AND PROVIDE FOR AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF REPAIRING THIS VEHICLE, WITHOUT CREATING SUCH HARDSHIP ON THE CUSTOMER. *JB

CONSUMER COMPLAINT IN REGARDS TO RECALL FOR PARKING BRAKE, CONSUMER IS UNABLE TO HAVE THIS RECALL DONE DUE TO SERVICE CENTER BEING CLOSED. *TS THE CONSUMER STATED THE NEAREST DEALER IS LOCATED IN ANOTHER STATE, THAT IS ABLE TO HANDLE THE SIZE OF THE TRUCK. THE CONSUMER STATED FORD SHOULD NOTIFY CUSTOMERS WHEN A DEALERSHIP CLOSES ITS DOORS. *JB
