SEAT BELTS
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks manufactured January 29, 2013, to January 21, 2015. While entering the vehicle, the seat belt tensioner cable may be positioned such that the driver slides over it. This movement may result in the fatigue and separation of the cable.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will modify the vehicles to prevent the tensioner from being damaged. Any tensioner that has already been damaged will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on August 11, 2016. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15822.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks manufactured January 24, 2014, to February 26, 2014, 2015 Chevrolet Suburban vehicles manufactured February 12, 2014 and Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles manufactured February 6, 2014, to February 13, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the ignition lock actuator may bind, making turning the key difficult or causing the ignition to get stuck in the "Start" position.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ignition lock housing, free of charge. The recall began on November 20, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15573.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles manufactured November 24, 2014, to November 25, 2014. Due to an improper heat-treatment, the rear axle shaft may fracture while the vehicle is being driven.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the rear axles, and replace any that were improperly heat-treated, free of charge. The recall began on December 17,2014. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet) or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14892.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra, and Yukon XL vehicles, equipped with electric power steering (EPS). Due to a problem with the EPS module, the affected vehicles may experience a sudden loss of power steering assist during vehicle operation.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the power steering assist motor kit, free of charge. The recall began on November 17, 2014. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14743.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Buick Encore and Cadillac ATS; 2014 Cadillac CTS, ELR, Chevrolet Caprice and SS vehicles; and 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Trucks. Due to an incomplete weld on the seat hook bracket assembly, the front seats in the affected vehicles may not stay secured in place during a high load condition such as a crash.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the seat hook bracket assembly weld and replace the lower seat track, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on August 15, 2014. In the affected vehicles, an electrical signal short may cause the transfer case to shift to neutral without the driver's input.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will re-program the software in the transfer case control module, free of charge. The recall began in early August 2014. The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 MPH the "loss of power steering" warning illuminated. The contact felt the steering wheel was hard to turn to the left or right. The contact was able to stop the vehicle and turn the vehicle off, when he turned the vehicle on the power steering was engaged, however, the failure was reoccurring. The contact stated that failure was also occurring at any speed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the power steering system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V586000 (Steering), however the vehicle was not part of the VIN selection. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

The contact stated that the failure re-occurred while she was driving at approximately 30 MPH. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. HAD BEEN COMPLAINING SINCE 2 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE THAT TRANSMISSION WAS SHAKING/SHIMMYING/SPUTTERING. WAS PULLING ONTO A COUNTY HIGHWAY OFF OF A RESIDENTIAL TYPE ROAD (AFTER PICKING UP GRANDDAUGHTER FROM SCHOOL - SHE WAS IN TRUCK) AND TRUCK BOGGED DOWN & WOULDN'T GO. INTERSECTION IS AT TOP OF HILL AND AROUND A CORNER. WAS CLEAR WHEN I STARTED PULLING OUT, BUT WAS ALMOST HIT BY ONCOMING TRUCK BEFORE I GOT MY TRUCK TO GET ON ACROSS THE INTERSECTION. HAS BEEN IN SHOP TWICE TO FIX IT. FIRST TIME TO DOUBLE TRANSMISSION FLUSH. THAT DIDN'T WORK. NEXT TIME A FEW WEEKS LATER, A TECHNICIAN HOOKED UP A COMPUTER TO MY TRUCK SO HE COULD MANUALLY SHIFT GEARS WHILE RIDING WITH ME. HE FELT THE ISSUES AND SAID HE SAW SEVERAL PROBLEMS. DEALERSHIP ENDED UP REPLACING TORQUE CONVERTER. ALSO REPLACED VLOM MANIFOLD - WHATEVER THAT IS? THAT'S WHAT IT SAYS ON WORK ORDER. THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I BELIEVE THERE ARE BULLETINS OUT ON THIS TRUCK'S TRANSMISSION ALREADY. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.

I BOUGHT A 2015 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 WT BLACK OUT EDITION ON 12/1/2015. WITHIN A FEW WEEKS OF DRIVING TRUCK AND ABOUT 1000 MILES ON TRUCK DRIVERS SEAT HAS A MAJOR SQUEAK AND FEELS NOT STURDY. AFTER MANY TRIPS TO DEALER AND REPLACING SEVERAL PARTS, DRIVERS SEAT REMAINS SAME AS OF TO DATE. AT THIS POINT DEALER SAYS THERE ARE NO ISSUES REPORTED ON ANY OTHER 2015 TRUCKS IN THE US. TRUCK SEAT IS UNBEARABLE TO DRIVE AND COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD. TRUCK CURRENTLY HAS 4500 MILES

CAMSHAFT LIFTER FAILURE (COLLAPSED / STUCK), #1 CYLINDER AFTER ENGINE WAS IDLE FOR ~5 MINUTES. VEHICLE HAD 9701 MILES AT TIME OF INCIDENT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A RELATIVELY COMMON ISSUES WITH REGARDS TO THE ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS ON LATE MODEL GM VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THIS TECHNOLOGY. THE SERVICE WRITER AT THE DEALERSHIP NOTED THAT THEY HAVE SEEN SEVERAL VEHICLES IN FOR SERVICE WITH THE ISSUE OF A "COLLAPSED" OR "STUCK" LIFTER REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. THERE IS DEFINITELY A FLAW IN THE DESIGN OR THE GRADE OF MATERIALS BEING USED AS A LIFTER SHOULD NOT BE FAILING AT THIS RATE WITH VERY LITTLE USAGE.

I HAVE A 2015 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 4X4 WITH 5000 MILES. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ( LESS THEN 2 MILES) MY SERVICE 4WD SYSTEM WARNING CAME UP. THE TRUCK IS STUCK IN 4WD CAN NOT SWITCH IT OUT. ALSO WHILE STUCK IN 4WD TURNING IS VERY DIFFICULT. CALLED DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE IT IN. WHILE ON MY WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP STILL STUCK IN 4WD MY CHECK ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON. THE TRUCK STARTED TO SHACK AND SHIFTING AT RANDOM AND THE RPM WERE ALL OVER UP AND DOWN. I GOT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND CHECKED IN THEY TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE WHILE I WAITED. WHILE ON MY WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP STILL STUCK IN 4WD MY CHECK ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON. THE TRUCK STARTED TO SHACK AND SHIFTING AT RANDOM AND THE RPM WERE ALL OVER UP AND DOWN. I GOT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND CHECKED IN THEY TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE WHILE I WAITED. CENTER CONSOLE BEVERAGE HOLDERS, HAVE TWO HOLES ON HARD PLASTIC.THESE HOLES DRAIN SPILL LIQUID FROM BEVERAGES TO GO INSIDE CONSOLE AND CAUSING MOLD GROW AND BAD SMELL. ALSO CAUSES THAT USB PORTS ON CONSOLE TO SHORT OUT AND BURN. THESE PROBLEM GETS WORST WHEN OWNER LIFTS CENTER CONSOLE TO SEAT A 3RD PERSON IN FRONT OF VEHICLE CAUSING ACCUMULATED LIQUID TO SPILL TO BACK OF CONSOLE, WHERE IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CLEAN. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2015 SILVERADEO ON 7/24/15 AND AT ABOUT 700 MILES OR SO I NOTICED A BAD VIBRATION AS THE TRUCK WAS IN MOTION, TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER CAUSE I WAS VERY UPSET IT BEING AN $56,000.00 TRUCK AND ALL. THEY WANTED ME TO LEAVE THE TRUCK OVERNIGHT AND DID NOT OFFER ANY VEHICLE TO DRIVE SO I DID NOT LEAVE IT WITH THEM. SO I TOOK THE TRUCK TO RATFIELD TIRE AND HAD THE TIRE'S BALANCED,ALL 4 TIRE'S WERE OUT OF BALANCE, WHICH I PAID FOR OUT OF POCKET MYSELF NOT GM.... THIS DIDNOT FIX THE PROBLEM OF THE SEVERE VIBRATION GOING DOWN THE ROAD. I THEN TOOK THE TRUCK TO ANOTHER DEALER FOR THE VIBRATION, THEY TEST DROVE IT AND CONFIRMED THE VIBRATION, DID A ROAD FORCE BALANCE ON ALL 4 WHEELS, THEN REPLACED ALL TIRE'S, THIS ALSO HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM,THE TRUCK IS STILL VIBRATING, THE ENTIRE SEAT JUST SHAKES, I AM PRESENTLY WAITING ON ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME HIMSELF AFTER REPLACING ALL 4 TIRE'S THAT IT FELT LIKE A BALANCE ISSUE INSIDE THE MOTOR WHICH THERE IS NO FIX, NOW THAT IS CRAZY...I FELL THAT THIS TRUCK SHOULD BE REPLACED OR MY MONEY BACK ENTIRELY.THE TRUCK ONLY HAS A LITTLE OVER 2000 MILES CAUSE IT MAKES ME SICK TO DRIVE IT....

WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT ON ANY ROADS THE VISIBILITY WITH THE LOW BEAMS IS TERRIBLE! THE HIGH BEAMS ARE WHAT THE LOW BEAMS SHOULD BE. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE ANYTHING IN THE DISTANCE OR ON THE SHOULDER. I HAVE BOUGHT CHEVY VEHICLES FOR 44 YEARS AND AM HEADING OUT TO TRADE MY 2015 SILVERADO IN FOR A DODGE. IT' S THE SAFEST THING I CAN DO SINCE CHEVY SAYS THERE IS NOTHING THAT BE DONE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE LIGHTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 700.
