On October 3, 2012, at about 1100 universal coordinated time, a Robinson Helicopter Company, R-22 Beta, VH-LLF, sustained substantial damage when it collided with the side of a canyon near the Halls Creek Aerodrome, Australia. The pilot was fatally injured. The flight was operated under the pertinent civil regulations of Australia.
