The pilot reported that during the approach for landing, the airplane was fast and high, but he continued the approach. The airplane subsequently landed on the last third of the runway and he applied brakes, but the airplane overran the runway and nosed over.
The airplane sustained substantial damage to the left-wing lift strut.
The pilot reported that there was no preimpact mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
The pilot did not submit the National Transportation Safety Board Pilot/Operator Aircraft Accident/Incident Report Form 6120.1.
