Incident Narrative
An employee was performing roofing activities on a commercial roof. As the employee walked to the ladder to exit the roof for lunch, they stepped on a piece of insulation that hung over the roof and fell approximately 17 feet to the ground. The employee was hospitalized with a wedge compression fracture to the L2 and T12 vertebrae and traumatic rupture of a lumbar intervertebral disc.
