Incident Narrative
An employee was climbing into a reel to operate the inside reel valve when a shift of weight caused the reel to rotate. The employee got caught between a spoke of the wheel and the wall of the trailer, resulting in a crush injury to the chest, a lacerated spleen, multiple hemorrhages and internal bleeding, a fractured rib, an anterior chest wall abrasion, and back abrasions.
