Incident Narrative
Employees were testing and repairing a sewer line while in a trench that was approximately 3.5 feet deep. Employee 1 was standing and employee 2 was squatting down to work on the line when the trench walls collapsed. Employee 2 was engulfed by the dirt. Both employees were transported to the hospital. Employee 1 was treated but not hospitalized. Employee 2 was hospitalized with a fractured pelvis and injury to the abdominal area.
