An employee was decoupling a motor from a compressor and removing the shim pack to perform diagnostics. The employee's finger was inside the shim pack to ensure it wasn't binding against itself when another contractor employee rolled the compressor. The shim pack rolled simultaneously and the flywheel amputated the top of the employee's right index finger.
