Incident Narrative
On September 16, 2023 at 7:30am, a crew was clearing a cone plug/bridge in the upper section of an ash discharger. The injured employee was working from the mid-section access port below the plugged section. As he was using a 20-foot aluminum pole to dislodge the material located above in the chute, some material fell onto the employee, followed by hot water. The employee sustained burns to his hands, arms, torso, and legs from the hot water.
