An employee was walking between the maintenance shop and the nonferrous area. At the same time, a forklift was pushing a scrap steel beam that was on the ground alongside a storage can. The beam moved out of position and struck the employee's right leg. The employee sustained a fractured leg, requiring hospitalization and surgery.
