Incident Narrative
An employee was replacing conveyor belt rubber bands on the aluminum roller and drive shaft when the rotating shaft caught their left hand and pulled it in, fracturing their little finger. The rotating rubber band then wrapped around their left ring finger and continued to wrap around the rotating drive shaft until the fingertip was amputated under the nailbed. The employee also sustained lacerations that required stitches.
