Incident Narrative
Two maintenance employees were on a scissor lift repairing a pneumatic valve on a hot water delivery line. Hot water that was approximately 180 F contacted the employees and they climbed/jumped down from the scissor lift to retreat from the hot water. Both employees were hospitalized with burns to their head, chest, hands, and body. They also sustained leg and ankle injuries due to the impact from jumping off of scissor lift.
