Incident Narrative
Two employees had just completed attaching lift straps to a 6,000-pound steel C-channel bundle and 20-foot spreader bar and had connected it to a 45-ton forklift. As the forklift began to lift the load, the C-channel bundle shifted and the injured employee was caught between the bundle and the wall of the gondola train car from which the load was being removed. The employee sustained a possible pelvis fracture.
