An employee was directing traffic at an intersection. After he asked a driver to stop, the driver got out of his vehicle and attacked the employee with a machete. The second swing of the blade struck the employee's hand, causing a laceration, broken bones, and tendon damage. The employee was hospitalized, requiring surgery.
