Incident Narrative
An employee was assembling a gantry crane. The employee placed his left middle finger in a hole of the steel frame of the leg base when a co-worker lifted the attached leg assembly, which caught the employee's finger and resulted in a fingertip amputation and the loss of the fingernail.
