Incident Narrative
An employee was draining condensate from an air compressor when a catastrophic failure occurred on a check valve on a natural gas line. The natural gas began blowing toward the running compressor and the gas ignited causing an explosion. The employee was hospitalized for second and third degree burns to the face, hands, left leg, and left midsection.
