Incident Narrative
Two employees were at Blackpoint Marina to repair a fuel leak on a customer's boat. The employees identified a corroded fuel valve (pickup) and replaced it. They were checking for additional leaks when a small explosion occurred in the bilge area. The ignition source may have been static electricity from a cell phone. Both employees received burns to their hands and faces and were hospitalized.
