Incident Narrative
During drill rig set up, a raised piece of drill pipe slipped out of the pipe stop housing that keeps the pipe from moving when placed in the upright rack and an employee's left thumb was caught and crushed between the pipe and the housing. The employee was hospitalized for surgery.
