A temporary employee was assisting another employee with moving a metal grate onto a wooden pallet in order to clean underneath the grate. While positioning the grate onto the pallet, the temporary employee's left middle finger was caught between the grate and the pallet resulting in amputation of the distal end of the left middle finger.
