Incident Narrative

Two employees were checking the baskets in a dual filter basket system for debris. The hot water flow had been diverted to one basket while they checked the other one; as they were about to replace that basket's lid, there was a pop and hot water rushed into it, scalding the two employees and causing second- and third-degree burns on their arms and chests. One of them was hospitalized.
