Incident Narrative

An employee was placing steel abutments onto a sled (a setup and transportation tool) using a hoist. Two abutments were being lifted in the hoist. As the employee placed one of them, the second one swung back toward it, pinching the employee's left ring finger between the two. The employee was hospitalized, undergoing exploratory surgery.
