Incident Narrative
An employee had completed routine reduction cell skimming prior to installation of a new carbon anode. He had exited the catwalk and immediate work area to store tools and cool off when he discovered his shirts were on fire. He suffered third and second degree burns across the lower back, upper left back, and right arm, as well as additional burns to the left-hand fingers. He was hospitalized.
