Incident Narrative
A crew was dismantling a hoist on the exterior of a building when one of the turnbuckle ties snapped at the eye where it was bolted into the mast. The mast which weighs approximately 100 lbs. and measures approximately 10.5 feet swung down approximately 4-5 feet and struck an employee on the back of his head. The employee was hospitalized with skull fractures and hemorrhaging.
